Wadeville, Gauteng where the multi skilled employees operate various state of the art resources such as
computerized numerically controlled (CNC) punching machines, press brakes, guillotines, eccentric press’s,
epoxy powder coating plants and the latest roll forming and profiling machines.
In line with our continual search for better operation practices and manufacturing, we have recently acquired
the first Fiber Laser in the country from Salvagnini and various Rolling machines from Gasperini. The present
employee complement is over 280.
Product Finish All Racking and Shelving as well as related products are epoxy powder coated and tested for compliance to
SABS specification unless an alternate method of coating is required or a specific application e.g. Electro
galvanized.

Standard Pallet Racking
Our racking systems are legendary with customers asking for our systems dating back
some 60 years. This is testament to the structural integrity and manufacture process of
our systems. In this category, we have various models to choose from for example the
legendary Series 75 and the well-known Q-Lock (Dexion Type).
Within each of these models, there is also a smaller version. These are namely Series70
and Baby Q-Lock. These models are perfect for the lighter application but still maintain
the quality and structural integrity associated with the larger versions. Given the ‘light’
application profile for which they were designed, these models are available in both
1.6 and 2mm.

Standard Duty Connector

Regarded by many as “the” system to have, Series 75 has been around since 1957
and is still used and preferred by many customers despite its premium price tag. This
system which is recognizable by the louver connection is still the preferred system
when developing a “drive-in “racking system.
It’s in the way that the beam s fit into the frame to make a ridged structure that
makes this the ideal combination and lends itself so well to this type of racking. In the
designing of a louver system, a gravity pin is not utilized. Instead, there is a safety flap
which must be knocked flat once the beam is in its final position. This helps prevent
the beam from being knocked out accidently by forklifts.

S94 and S90 Pallet Racking
Considered still the “new boy on the block”, Series 94 has proven itself time and time
again in the many different applications that it has already utilized. Series 94 boasts
being rolled, formed and punched all in one smooth operation. The end result of this, is
a product more cost effective than its predecessor but without any sacrifice to both
quality and the safety of the system.
The added advantage of the Series 94 system is that we can roll the frame sections to
virtually any length.
This system is available in material starting at 1.6mm up to and including 2.5mm. The
beams are welded with the appropriate connector and painted. The Series 94 frames
can be rolled from a highly durable pre-galvanized material. This is particularly useful as
it is a requirement for coolers when the temperature is between -5ºc and +5ºc. At these
temperatures, the instance of condensation is at its’ highest and can lead to premature
corrosion.
For these applications, we are also able to either roll the beams or hot dipped
galvanized. There is no extra charge if we roll the frames from pre-galvanized material,
however, there is a nominal charge for having them hot dipped galvanized.
On the right is a picture showing how the
Series 94 Beams connect to the frames.
A gravity pin acts as a safety device,
helping against the accidental lifting of
the beams from the frames.

Drive-in Racking
Custom design to the client’s needs, this type of racking is designed right down
to the last detail. Through its design, it is one of the most efficient ways of storing
large quantities of the same goods, with a slow turnaround time.
Perishable goods being stored in this type of system needs to have a strict
rotational schedule as this is for medium to long term type of storage. Positioning
the system in another way, i.e. away from walls or in the middle of the warehouse
floor, it then becomes a Drive–Through System. By simple doing this, stock rotation
is no longer a problem as the FIFO system becomes the predominant rule
allowing the palletized stock to be entered from one end and removed from the
other.
All guide rails are mandatory and form part of the foot of the frame section.
These are meant to guide the forklifts as they enter and exit the system. The
pallets are “seated” on the self – centering rails which run the length of the
system.

Mobile Racking
Mobile Pallet Racking can increase storage capacity by over 100% over the conventional static
racks without loss of selectivity. The system comprises of individual racks mounted on mobile bases.
The bases are power driven by low maintenance electric motors. The mobile bases run on rails
accurately which have been in-laid into the floor as part of the construction of the building. A retro fit
is possible, however, one must then consider that the floor should be of suitable thickness to enable
the housing of rails and maintain structural integrity.
Safety is of paramount importance, the utilization of sensor cells at both ends of the cases can
detect any obstruction in their path and activate an emergency stop. These units are able to
operate at temperatures as low as -30ºC.
This type of system is not only suitable for ambient projects but freezer and cold room projects too.
For these types of applications, all the racking utilized in the project will be galvanized (due to the
formation of frost)
ADVANTAGES
1. Fewer racking aisles
required saving up to
90% space
2. Utilization of space
better managed
3. Installation of system
possible in new and
existing buildings
4. Expandable modules
that can be added
5. System can be utilized
for both ambient and
cold storage projects
6. Full safety features to
prevent accidents

Pallet Flow Racking
ACROW Limited provides the support system for a variety of Pallet Flow Systems
which in turn ensure a “First in – First out” operation.
This allows for the greatest pallet density possible and only a loading face and
off-loading face, thus keeping aisles to a minimum and forklifts out of the racking.
Pallets can be stored up to 10 deep or more and have a mass of 1.5 Tons.
Breaking rollers keep speed of descent in check and the last pallet is
automatically separated from the others to keep the load off them and make it
easy to remove from the rack.
This system is particularly well suited for large quantities of the same product
which are date sensitive.

Cantilever Racking
Designed and manufacture to our clients specific needs, the Canti-lever system
is and remains the best option for all extra-long product.
This system is used by clients who require anything from board to steel being
racked for ease of loading and offloading. Theoretically, there is no weight limit
as the weight is distributed through the arms. Typically, a maximum height of
around 5500mm would be used. This is due to the material handling equipment
not being able to reach this height with the weight associated with goods
typically used on this system.
The system can be designed for both single and double sided operations. The
arms are designed from 600mm right up to1800m long. As a safety feature, the
base of the system is designed to be the same length, as that of the longest
arms. The upright column is the strength of the system, and once the weight
requirements are established, the correct arm loads calculated, the size of the
column can be manufactured. There are two different options for this. A
standard I.P.E or universal beam steel section is available. The Canti-Lever
system can be either powder coated or, for outdoor applications hot dipped
galvanized.
