RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVERS ON THE ROAD:

Drivers have a lot of responsibilities when driving on the road:

Watch there speed and make sure that they don’t go over the speed limit.

Watch out for other traffic on the road to avoid collisions.

Be patient and calm. Concentrate on the road at all times

RESPONSIBILITES OF DRIVERS ON THE ROAD

Never drive and talk on your mobile phone because you should have both hands on the steering wheel.

Be alert at all times . Wear your seat belt. Have tax and insurance in your car. Try to not get distracted.

ADVICE FOR DRIVERS: Always wear your seat belt in case an

accident would happen Never drive when you are drunk or when you

have taken drugs because it is not safe for you or for any other vehicle on the road

Pay attention to pedestrians, cyclists and animals around you in case they go out in front of your vehicle.

Always obey the speed limits Always make sure that you have water in your

windscreen and that you go to the garage for services

MOBILE PHONES AND DRIVING When you are using your mobile phone

while you’re driving it makes you four times more likely to crash then when your not using it.

When you use your mobile phone and drive you get distracted and driver distraction is the cause of 20-30% of all road collisions.

You get 2 penalty points and a fixed charge of €60.

If you dont pay the fixed charge of €60 then you will get 4 penalty points and a possible €2,000 fine on conviction in court.

MOBILE PHONES AND DRIVING You are only allowed to use mobile

phones while driving to call 999 or 112, if it is an emergency.

You are not allowed to support your phone and talk on the phone, e.g between your ear and shoulder.

It is not illegal to talk on the phone and use a hands-free kit even though you are not fully concentrating on the road.
