All the courses this year involve heading up the Dolores Hill and entering the Boggy Draw Trail

System. This year, the 60-Mile Beat Down racers will be using the newly constructed 14th Street Trail

to bring them up the switchbacks. The other 3 courses will use Road 31 for the initial climb. The 18,

33 and 60-Mile Racers will end on the McPhee Overlook Trail bringing them back into Dolores to

finish. This year, we've incorporated many of the new trails completed by the Southwest Colorado

SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER 1 PRIORITY

Signs and color-coding flags will be posted at different trail intersections guiding you along your

journey. There will also be course marshals posted at various locations and an aid station for the

18-mile and up courses. The 15 course marshal stations will be labeled with circular orangenumber plates along the course. Search and Rescue will be on-hand, and we'll have 2 motorcyclists

set to do a final sweep of the course.

MAIN ROADS & TRAFFIC

The sheriff will be closing Road 31 from 9:00am - 9:20am to any north-bound traffic, but you will still

see oncoming traffic making their way southbound down the hill into Dolores. Please keep to the right

of the road and limit passing, being aware that there could still be traffic that slips by.

If your course crosses the main roads, you must yield to vehicle traffic. We will have course

marshals there to alert traffic and help, but it is your responsibility to cross safely.

13-milers: As you come back down Road 31 into town near the end of your race, be aware that traffic

will not be stopped southbound. Do not pass along the switchbacks and hug the right side of the road.

The other courses will not be coming back via Road 31.

TIMING AND SANCTION INFO

Bike Races will be timed via RFID chips through Rocky Mountain Timing, with computer monitors on

site to check your finish times, along with updates on their website and photos you can download of

yourself crossing the finish line.

The Boggy Draw Beat Down is sanctioned by USA Cycling Association. Your race registration

includes a one-day membership to USA Cycling.

times from 2020 will not be reflective of new course.
