Conventional Core Radiators Available Through Griffin
General Number preceeding CV refers to square footage of core CV stands conventional core
CV For use with single circuit cooling system (JWAC) Offered only for MUI packages in Griffin
CVD For use with dual circuit cooling systems (SCAC) All Griffin 3500B packages except for EPA certified use CVD radiators Physically the same as CV units, but with dual inlets and outlets. It accepts coolant flows from two different circuits, but mixes the coolant as it
passes through the radiator. Same overall dimension as the CV radiators (height, width, distance from
Datum 031)
CVS For use with dual circuit cooling systems (SCAC) All Griffin 3500B EPA certified packages use CVS (or CVS ) radiators
In order to meet EPA certification, the AC circuit must be < 60C whichrequires it to be separate from the jacket water so that they can operate atdifferent temperatures.
Physically the same as CVD units except they contain baffles inside theradiator to keep the cooling systems separate.
Same overall dimension as the CV radiators (height, width, distance fromDatum 03)
CVS Same performance parameters as the CVS radiators. Same height and width as regular CVS radiators but is longer due to its
thicker core. The extra length causes the radiator to jut out further from theengine, which increases its distance from Datum 03.
Different core design than the rest of the radiators. The oval coolant tubes for the three-quarter radiators are wide as
opposed to the standard wide oval tubes. There are 8 rows of tubes instead of the standard 6 rows.
There is one exception, the 46 CVS 5R, 180-4400, has 5 rows oftubes and is not as thick as the other core radiators.
1 Datum 03 is the rear face of the cylinder block on the Installation Drawings.
