Did you see us on television or hear us on the radio for World Alzheimer’s Month? In
September, we joined an international campaign to raise dementia awareness and
challenge stigma. World Alzheimer’s Month is coordinated by Alzheimer’s Disease
International, the umbrella organisation of Alzheimer's associations around the world.

We also got brand new social media accounts, an updated website and a 150% increase
in membership during World Alzheimer's Month 2018. This year was all about
increasing awareness about dementia in Jamaica, with 6 radio and television
interviews, a Twitter campaign, newspaper articles and blog posts!

Kingston for World Alzheimer's Day 2018.
AlzJA, in collaboration with the Immanuel United Church Women's Fellowship, hosted an all-day Dementia Symposium in St Mary on September 19th.It was attended by over 120 persons, including representatives from the Bureau of Gender Affairs, the Senior Medical Officer for St Mary and several revered guest speakers.
