Course OverviewUpon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

Recognize advantages of a radioactive seed localized surgical procedure

Begin to implement a breast radioactive seed localization program at participants’ institutions

Understand how to perform radioactive seed placement, radioactive seed localized breast surgery, andradioactive seed tracking.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is directed towards radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, medical physicists, radiation safety officers, radiologic technologists, and pathology assistants.

TARGET AUDIENCEThis workshop is intended to provide radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, medical physicists, radiation safety officers, radiologic technologists, and pathology assistants with the knowledge and techniques required to offer radioactive seed-guided breast surgery in their practices.

COURSE DESIGNThis course is comprised of lectures and interactive audience participation encouraging the intellectual exchange of ideas between faculty and participants.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENTMSK is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENTMSK designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. EVALUATIONA course evaluation survey sent out electronically will provide attendees with the opportunity to review the sessions and the speakers and to identify future educational needs.

OUTCOMES MEASUREMENT SURVEYSix months after the end of the course an Outcomes Measurement Survey will be sent to all participants to help us determine what positive impacts have been made on participant practice as a result of the course.
