MISSION STATEMENT

Supply the community of Denver and the state of

Colorado with safe, competent, radiologic

science professionals, who possess the entry-level knowledge and skills necessary to provide

comprehensive quality care to adults and pediatric patients in a culturally

diverse society.

PROGRAM GOALS

1. Students Will Be Clinically CompetentStudents will accurately position patients for radiographic procedures.Students will learn to apply appropriate technical factors.Students will understand and practice radiation protection. 2. Students Will Communicate EffectivelyStudents will demonstrate effective, medically oriented communication skills.Students will practice written communication skills. 3. Students Will Use Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Skills.Students will perform radiographic trauma examinations.Students will critically analyze images.

Students will be knowledgeable about the advanced Radiologic modalities.

5. Program Effectiveness Measures

Program will maintain a 21-month program completion rate 75% or higher

Program will maintain a first-time pass rate of ARRT board examination of 75% or higher

At least 85% of program graduates who are actively seeking employment will obtain employment within six (6) months of graduation.

Students will be satisfied with their education (80% or higher).

Employers will be satisfied with the graduate’s performance

(80% or higher).

Application Process

1. Complete all prerequisite coursework

2. Submit complete admissions packet July 1st – December 1st of current year for program start in following year.

3. Packet must be complete, or it will not be considered

4. Packets evaluated & scored• Top scoring candidates (approx. 36) invited to

interview; 25 accepted

5. Interviews conducted in the spring• No exceptions or alternate dates

6. Information from application packet and interview is compiled and scored on a matrix.

Application Process, cont’d

1. Top scoring candidates will be invited to enter program in July.

a. If RTE 101 is already completed, program start will be in August.

b. The next 3 highest-scoring candidates will be placed on an alternate list.

2. Notification of acceptance will occur by February.

3. Students may apply and interview a maximum of 3 times.

4. If requested, the radiography program staff will provide recommendations to help candidates improve their chances for success the next year, if not invited into the program.

Prepare yourself and your family for a challenging two years!

I Crimes of violence (assault, sexual offenses, arson, kidnapping, murder, any crime against an at-risk adult or juvenile, etc.). as defined in section 18-1.3-406 C.R.S. in the 10 years immediately preceding the submittal of application.

II Any offense involving unlawful sexual behavior—same time limit as above.

III Any crime, the underlying basis of which has been found by the court on the record to include an act of domestic violence, as defined in section 18-6-800.3 C.R.S. in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application. 

IV Any crime of child abuse, as defined in section 18-6-401 C.R.S.—same time limit as above.

 V Any crime related to the sale, possession, distribution or transfer of narcotics or controlled substances—same time limit as III. 

VI Crimes of theft—Felony has a 7-year limit; Misdemeanor has a 5-year limit

VII Any offense of sexual assault on a client by a psychotherapist, as defined in section 18-3-405.5 C.R.S. in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application 

VIII Crimes of moral turpitude (prostitution, public lewdness/exposure, etc.) Same time limit as above.

IX Registered sex offenders (NO time limit) X Any offense in another state, the elements of which are

substantially similar to the elements of any of the above offenses. 

XI More than 1 DUI in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application

Students who have successfully completed the terms of their deferred adjudication agreement will not be disqualified.
