Chemical Properties
Radon is nonreactive decomposer of Radium. It has a lower electronegativity than the element before it , Xenon, therefore it is more reactive. It isn’t very soluble in water but It is more soluble than the lighter elements before it.

Uses
One of the uses of Radon is Medical treatments. Some doctors would plant Radon “seeds”(small sealed gold or glass rubes filled with Radon) into a cancer tumor to kill the cancer cells. It is also believed to cure various health conditions such as: arthritis , asthma ,allergies , diabetes , and high blood pressure.

History
Radon’s discovery was not a single event , but a serious of events by many scientists. They original person who received the credit was Friedrich Ernst Dorn. However in 2003 researchers discovered that the credit belonged to Ernest Rutherford.

Radon has no stable isotopes ,but it does have 36 Radioactive isotopes with their atomic masses ranging from 193 to 228.

Other facts
• When a Radium nucleus decays , it sends out an alpha particle in one direction and a newly formed radon nucleus springs out in the opposite direction.
• Radon is invisible at room temperature but at -96*F (-71*C) radon is transformed into a phosphorescent , or glowing colorful solid. It is a soft yellow glow that deepens to an orange-red as radon is cooled to -319*F(-195*C)
