or are interested in getting involved in RAG come along

You’ll be able to get the low-down on all the RAG events,

New to the RAG calendar we will be holding fortnightly
socials. These will range from doing the Pub Quiz to a
game of bowling to the Charity Shop Challenge to a good
ole night out on the town in your finest glad RAGS
(See what I did there?!?)
Come along, get to know us, have a laugh and meet
your fellow raggies!
Committee Sky Dive – Steph, Isabel
and Joe will be falling 10,000ft from the
sky all for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres.

If you know all the words to Jingle Bells
(or even if you don’t!) we need your help
this December! Our annual bag pack and
carol singing will take place at Marks & Spencer’s
in the St. Nicholas Centre. We raised a huge amount
last year for only a couple of hours work, so if you
fancy getting involved, put on your Santa hat and
tinsel and come along!
Keeping in with the Christmas theme,
RAG will be putting forward a team of
willing volunteers for the
6k Santa Fun Run (or walk!)
Everyone get your jolly on!
Bringing back lots of old favorites including the RAG
Ceilidh, the RAG-GAG Comedy Gig and the chilly Nippy
Dip (Yes, that’s right, running into the North Sea in
February – if you’re man enough!)
We have a few new surprises up our sleeves too though,
like the Big Food and our epic cake sales! If Carlsberg did
cake sales…they still wouldn’t be as good as ours!
March is set to be a month
full of street collections.
The Granite City Challenge
takes place in March.
We’ll be collecting at several
of the events and
this year we’re
planning a
little competition against
Aberdeen University
Charities Campaign to
see who can raise the most
money for charity. With
RGU’s track record at Granite City,
we should win this too!
We’ll also be taking
in a MegaRaid.
This huge street
collecting event is a
fantastic chance
to get out of Aberdeen
and meet Raggies from all
over the country!
One of Aberdeen’s biggest charity events takes place at the end of April.
Torcher Parade is an annual event run by the Aberdeen University Charities
Campaign. Societies from RGU, AU and Aberdeen College are invited to make
floats to be paraded through Aberdeen City Centre.
RGU:RAG came 3rd place in the best float competition last year with our UP!
theme, and we want to improve on that this year! So, if you’re any good at
DIY, you have an idea for a good theme or you just like dressing up, RAG
NEEDS YOU!
We’ll be getting our hands dirty as the academic
year comes to an end and all the Freshers move
out of halls. We’ll be swooping in with our charity
recycling bags to sort the trash from the treasures,
donating what we can to the local charity shops!
It’ll be all hands on deck for our final mission of the year.
And our supporters!
