ABSTRACTThe present of rainbow cannot be predicted by humans . Rainbows are rare

phenomena because they rarely occur and does not last longer . Attempts to fight

this problem , our group have found an ideas that can help people able to see

rainbow everyday . Our group has been thinking to produce rainbow that long

lasting by using a few method . Based on that ideas , our group use some materials

such as white paper , glass or fishbowl and flashlight . By using that materials our

group success to produce mini rainbow . So , for this results of this project , our

group is able to produce rainbow park successfully .

Chapter 1 : IntroductionRainbow is easily to see after rains. But, the rainbow will not last for long.

Furthermore, some places in the world will not be able to see the rainbow occur. Therefore, my group will make an experinment on how to produce long – lasting

rainbow by using certain methodology. This experinment can show the other people how this unique phenomenon occurred.

1.1Problem statement

7

Page 8: Rainbow Park

Nowadays, most people like to observe rainbows. But, rainbows only can be

seen at a certain time especially after rains. There is also some places that

people cannot see the rainbow. Therefore, we want to make one experiment to

produce a model rainbow that will long lasting.

1.2Research Objective

Our objectives is to produce a model of rainbow that will produce rainbow that

is long lasting by using a few method . In this review , we will achieve the

following goals :

1) To produce a long lasting rainbow

2) To show that how rainbow occur

3) To make the site a visitors attraction

1.3Research purpose

To make a model of mini rainbow park

1.4Hypothesis

1) The brighter the light we used, the brighter the glow of rainbows.

2) The bigger the surface to produce rainbow, the easily the rainbows can be

seen.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

A rainbow is an optical and phenomenon that is caused by both reflection and refraction of light

in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of

a multicoloured arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly

opposite the sun.

Rainbows can be full circles, however, the average observer sees only an arc, formed by

illuminated droplets above the ground.

In a "primary rainbow", the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. This

rainbow is caused by light being refracted (bent) when entering a droplet of water, then reflected

inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.

The rainbow is not located at a specific distance, but comes from an optical illusion caused by

any water droplets viewed from a certain angle relative to a light source. Thus, a rainbow is not

an object and cannot be physically approached. Indeed, it is impossible for an observer to see a

rainbow from water droplets at any angle other than the customary one of 42 degrees from the

direction opposite the light source. Even if an observer sees another observer who seems "under"

or "at the end of" a rainbow, the second observer will see a different rainbow—farther off—at

the same angle as seen by the first observer.

A rainbow spans a continuous spectrum of colours. Any distinct bands perceived are an artefact

of human colour vision, and no banding of any type is seen in a black-and-white photo of a

rainbow, only a smooth gradation of intensity to a maximum, then fading towards the other side.

For colours seen by the human eye, the most commonly cited and remembered sequence

is Newton's sevenfold red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Rainbows can be caused by many forms of airborne water. These include not only rain, but also

mist, spray, and airborne dew.

CHAPTER 3 : METHODOLOGY Flashlight method

1. Find a piece of white paper. Fold it in half, and cut a little triangle with a

pair of scissors.

2. Prepare a glass

3. Tape a flashlight on the hole in the piece of paper.

4. Hold the paper up with the flashlight bar.

5. Turn on the flashlight directly at the glass

6. Bam!) A rainbow has appeared.

Mist method

1. Another mist method is to use a manual car wash wand that can quickly

cover a very large area with mist due to the highly pressurized water.

2. Turn your back to the mid afternoon sun or later, as when the lower the sun

is to the horizon, the easier it is to see the entire effect

3. Quickly spray a large area, until you start to see a rainbow appearing.

4. Then merely follow the arc of the rainbow, misting in an entire circle to see

the rainbow as a "complete circle rainbow"

10

Page 11: Rainbow Park

5. Depending upon the angle of the sunlight, it might be necessary to crouch

down low so your shadow does not hide part of the rainbow

2)Mist method

4.2 Result Conclusion

From the experiment, we conclude that rainbow can be produced by

using a certain method. The method that we can use to produce the rainbow

is flashlight method and mist method. Then, we know that rainbow is natural

phenomenon but also can produce by human being.

CHAPTER 5 : DISSCUSSION

5.1 Problem Statement

Nowadays, most people like to observe rainbows. A rainbow is an optical and

meteorological phenomenon in the world. But, rainbows only can be seen at a certain time

especially after rains. There is also some places that people cannot see the rainbow.

Therefore, we want to make one experiment to produce a model rainbow that is long lasting.

5.2 The Ideas To Overcome The Problem Of The Research

From the research we had done, we found that there is no other experiment or idea that

involved the rainbow creation. In addition, we also found that some places does cannot see the

rainbow either it was before or after rain. Therefore, we want to make one experiment to produce

a model rainbow that is long lasting.

Firstly, we used a simple materials to produce this research. The materials that we used in

this research was such like mirror, torchlight and glass or pail. This materials are used by us to

make our project or research be easier. So, it may easier for other people to

Next, when some people want to make those rainbow in a big places, they can change the

materials such like torchlight change by spotlight and a small mirror can change by a big of

mirror. So that, they could make a big rainbow or called by rainbow park.

12

Page 13: Rainbow Park

CHAPTER 6 : CONCLUSION6.1 Conclusion

As the conclusion, rainbow is the most beautiful natural phenomena. There also many

experience that we had during the process of the research. In addition, we also had studied about

the how the rainbow occur.

Next, we also face several difficulties during the research. However, we did not give up

and continue the research till the end.

Besides, as a human being, we also can produce our own rainbow. We can produce our

own rainbow that long lasting by using a few method and ways. Therefore, we don’t need to wait

the rainbow appear after rain.
