Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your forbearing spirit be
known to all men. The Lord is near.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiv-
ing let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all compre-
hension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in
Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4:4-6
The Annual Bethesda Board meetings will be held next week (Oct 15-16) in the USA this year at West Bridge Church in Danville, Indiana. There will be many im-portant things to discuss and we would ask that you please pray diligently for our board members as they seek to make plans and decisions that will please the Lord and further the ministry of Bethesda. The need for this ministry is great as we were reminded just a few weeks ago when a sibling group of 5 little children were
placed at Bethesda!
We would also like to invite anyone who is in the area or willing to drive to Dan-ville, IN to come to one of two dinner evenings that will give you the opportunity to meet the board, ask questions, interact with them and be updated on all that God is doing at Bethesda Outreach. There will be a light meal provided and this is free
of charge. Please see the invite below for RSVP details.
We would love to have you join us for dinner!

God has truly blessed Bethesda by bringing a sibling group of 5 children to us in Septem-
ber. One girl and 4 boys arrived to com-
pletely fill the Phiri’s home.
You can pray for Alex and Mutinta as they make the adjustment from 3 children to 8! It’s
a lot of work but God gives the strength each day. The children are settling in well
and making good friends with the other chil-dren in the village. We trust that God will
begin to work in their little hearts now so that they will have knowledge of Christ, the Bible
and the Gospel.
This familiar question is asked around the globe as children develop and receive their education. Each year during the
month of September, Jabulane students enjoy a week of highlighting careers available to them in South Africa. The
goal of this week is to help them be more aware of what they need to know so they can decide what career God has
called them to. They hear from individuals about their fields and the educational requirements students must fulfil to
enter those careers. Here are some highlights from the speakers for the week!
Tshwane Metropolitan Police Band
The Tshwane Metropolitan Police Band amazed the student body with their musical skills and demonstrated each
instrument in the band so the students have a better understanding of what part each instrument plays in the
band’s music.
Larry Schmidt, Bio-mechanical Engineer
Larry demonstrated a robotic arm that a fellow engineer has developed. He also used a
computer program to demonstrate the difference a cochlear implant can have on the
hearing of a person who is hearing impaired. The students were astounded!
Janet Cooper and Zandile Mathunyane, SAA
Janet and Zandile work together at South African
Airways. They each shared about the wide variety of
positions within the airline and the skills each requires. We now
have several budding flight attendants, ground staff, and pilots in
our student body.

Kate Dodd, RN
Kate showed the children different tools nurses
used and shared her passion for the field of
nursing. The Bethesda children have seen Kate in
action, but the students from the community
learned a lot about “Mama Kate” and all enjoyed
learning more about the field of nursing and the
many, many places it is used!
Deon Bonthuys, Civil Engineer
Deon is a civil engineer currently work-
ing with hydroelectricity to solve elec-
tricity problems in rural communities.
He showed the children pictures and
videos of all the areas in which a civil
engineer can work and students were
amazed at the variety of areas to
serve!
One of the ways that a community restaurant helps Be-thesda in fundraising is by allowing us to participate in their program in which they have students come and participate in waiting on tables for an evening. As a further incentive, the restaurant gives 10% of all the profits between certain hours on that night as a donation to our school/Bethesda. It promotes a great relationship between Spur and our school! Thanks to a great turn out, it was our best Spur night
so far!
On Friday, students dressed up to show the careers they hope to have one day. Pictured here are medical professionals, police officers, sol-
diers, and pilots or flight attendants.
Opportunities to Help
Bethesda Outreach, a ministry of Bethesda Outreach Ministry International, Inc., was
born in October of 2000 out of a desire to show compassion to children in Africa who
had been orphaned by AIDS.
Bethesda’s mission is to encourage and assist the local church in meeting the needs
of orphan children that they may become disciples of Christ.
That mission is accomplished through Bethesda’s Children’s Village which includes
child care families and Jabulane Christian Academy, along with our outreach to the
community.
Bethesda Outreach Ministries is registered as a non-profit organization.

Christmas in September? It seems a little early for Christmas but it’s not too early to begin thinking of how you or your church, organisation, busi-
ness or school can get involved in our Christmas project for 2015. We have been working hard thinking through what will be the best and most needed project for Bethesda. We will begin introducing this in our next update and giving you more details as the time get’s closer. We are excited to see how God will continue to provide for the children and
families of Bethesda Outreach!
