4. Conclusion


We still need to inform :

• that fakes are illegal goods

• Counterfeiting is endangering the economy – loss of jobs, threat to R&D investment

• Risks for consumers : health and safety risks, deception as to quality of the goods, mistrust in the market, threat to sensitive data and money)

• It is an unacceptable intrusion of illegal activities in everyday’s life

We need to show that we are actively fighting this plague

In South‐East Asia (FH Center in Hong Kong), Central Asia, Europe and the Middle‐East

Customs and Police are the « gate‐keepers » of our markets

At best, 3% of goods are « checked » at the border

Objectives:

• provide information to target consignments

• provide information on how to distinguish fake from original

• Demonstrate our support to authorities

Tools to share the information:

• Training seminars

• Booklet

• Participation to operations and support

• FH website and other platforms (WCO project for example)

3. Lobbying/ awareness raising of politics

Network of Swiss Consulates/Embassies worldwide ‐Distribution of an « information set »

Message to foreign governments while in official visit and through the visits of Swiss official delegations abroad
