1. Introduction:-
Post Graduate Entrance Test - 2015 is being conducted for the purpose of
determining the eligibility for admission of students to Ayurveda/ Homoeopathy
/Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences courses in Government/Private/Aided/Unaided

Minority/Non- Minority Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences Colleges
within the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2015-16.
Post Graduate Entrance Test is being conducted for admission to Post Graduate
Courses in Government colleges and Government seats in Private Colleges, in accordance
with the Government Notification No. HFW 227 PTD 2012, dated 18/03/2013. The
details and instructions contained in this Brochure are subject to the Government orders
issued from time to time.
2. Eligibility:- A candidate who fulfill the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for
the Entrance Test, namely :-
(i) He is a citizen of India;
(ii) He has studied and passed in the courses leading to the award of Bachelor degree
in Ayush specified in clause (iv) below in colleges recognized by Central Council of
Indian Medicine (CCIM) or Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH) and Government
of India and affiliated to any University established by Law and located in
Karnataka State; or
(iii) Candidate must be of the Karnataka origin who had studied Bachelor's degrees
specified in clause (iv) below in colleges outside the State of Karnataka recognized
by Central Council of Indian Medicine or Central Council of Homoeopathy and
Government of India and affiliated to any University established by Law in India;
Explanation: "Candidate of Karnataka origin means who or his parents (Father or
Mother) has been a resident of Karnataka State for a period of not less than ten
years and who produce a domicile certificate from the concerned Tahasildar to that
effect.
(iv) Minimum qualification for admission to Post Graduate degree courses.- In case
of,- (a) For MD and MS (Ayurveda) - He/she has a BAMS Degree. (b) For MD (Yoga and Naturopathy) - He/she has a BNYS Degree. (c) For MD (Homoeopathy) - He/she has a BHMS Degree.
(v) The Candidate must not have attained the age of 45 years as on the last date fixed
for submission of application to Post Graduate Degree Entrance Test;
(vi) The Candidates who have completed or are completing compulsory rotatory
internship on or before last date fixed for submission of application to entrance
test;
(vii) A Candidate, who is already holding or perusing a Post-Graduate Degree in any
specialty of AYUSH System shall not be eligible to appear for the test regarding
admission to any Post- Graduate Degree Course;
Provided that, the requirements mentioned under rule 2 (iii) shall not applicable in the case of;
(a) The children of serving or retired employees of All India Services, Karnataka cadre
of the State Government who had served or are serving outside the State during the
period the candidate had been studying from the first standard till the
commencement of the first year of the course leading to the degree in the qualifying
examination, to the extent of the period of such service outside the state.

(b) Children of Central Government employees and employees of Central or State
Government undertaking or Joint Sector working continuously in Karnataka for at
least three years as on the 30th April of that year.
(c) Children of Central Government employees and employees of Central or State
Government undertakings or Joint Sector undertaking working as on the 30th
April of that year outside the state where such employee had:-
(i) declared to the respective Government Organization a place in Karnataka as his home town and
(ii) studied for not less than five years between the First Standard and SSLC or
equivalent examination in any educational institution in Karnataka run or recognized by the State Government.
(d) The children of Members of Parliament elected from the Karnataka to the extent of
the period of being a Member of Parliament during the period of the child’s study in
New Delhi from the First Standard to the qualifying examination during his tenure
as Member of Parliament.
(e) The children of serving Defence Personnel or Ex-servicemen whose address at the
time of joining the Defence Service is in Karnataka.
Note: The candidates claiming any of the exemption specified above shall produce such certificates as specified by the committee for claiming such exemption.
3. Application Form:-

B. If Photograph not uploaded,
C. If photographs are found mismatched in the application,
D. If photographs are not recent one and not attested by an Gazette Officer,

Guidelines to fill the online Application form:
Note: Since the Applicant should upload their photographs in online application entry, the applicant should scan their passport size photograph (Snapped after 22/04/2015 with Name & Date on the photograph) in .jpg format and make available for uploading with the following specifications.
Width = 1.3 inches, Height = 1.6 inches, Resolution = 200 X 200 dpi and the file size should be less than 100kb.

1. Name of the Candidate: Fill the name in BLOCK LETTERS as per 10th standard Marks Card.
2. Mother’s Name: Mother’s name in full should be filled.
3. Father’s Name: Father’s Name should correspond to the form and spelling in the 10th standard Marks Card.

5. Date of Birth: The Date of Birth should correspond to the entry in the 10th Marks Card in dd/mm/yyyy.
6. Place of Birth: Select the District in which you were born.
7. Gender: Select from the drop down list Female /Male.
8. Nationality: Enter the Nationality.
9. Qualifying Examination: Write the Name of qualifying Examination.
10. College: Write the name of the college through which you have passed BAMS / BHMS / BNYS.
11. University: Write the name of the University through which you have passed.
12. Domicile of Karnataka : Select form the drop down list Yes/No.
13. Name of the Council, Registration Number and State Details: Enter Name of the Council, Professional Registration No. and State in where registered.
14. Compulsory Rotatory Internship/Industrial training declaration: Enter the date of completion of compulsory rotatory internship/industrial training. If you have not yet completed the compulsory rotatory internship/industrial training as on the date filling the application, mention the date on which you are likely to complete the internship supported by a Certificate issued by the Principal of concerned college.
15. Professional Experience in case of Nursing in Hospital or Nursing Educational Institutions or Community Health Centers
16. Marks of BAMS / BHMS / BNYS : Enter the marks obtained by you in all the Phase / Year of your course against maximum marks, secured marks and number of attempts taken to pass the respective Phase / year in BAMS/BHMS/BNYS.

After filling the online application form press SUBMIT button, if you are sure that all the data entered by you is correct. The system will ask for uploading photograph and the scanned photograph of .jpg format file with the above mentioned specification has to be uploaded. An Application Number will get generated and please record it for your future usage. Take the printout of the filled-in application and paste the recent passport size photograph which is scanned and uploaded in the space provided. The print out of the filled-in application duly signed by the candidate be sent to University along with the required documents within the stipulated time. In-service candidates should submit their applications through the concerned Head of the Department and no advance copy will be entertained.
How to submit:
i) By Post or In-person:
Print out of application filled online, along with attested copies of all required certificates may be sent by post or In-person for registration to “The Registrar, RGUHS, 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore – 560 041” by 25/05/2015, before 5.00 PM. Candidates should super scribe on the cover as “Application for PGET-2015 (AHPNP)”.
Please note that the candidate will not become eligible for attending the entrance test only by online registration. The candidate must ensure that print out of his/her application with all enclosures mentioned in the brochure reaches the RGUHS by 22/05/2015. The University
does not hold the responsibility for loss or delay in postal delivery.
4. Registration Fee:-

The prescribed registration fee should be remitted through payment gateway by using Debit or Credit Cards (Master or Visa).
Candidates are hereby informed that payment SHOULD NOT be made through Demand Draft or any other mode of payment other than what is mentioned above.

5. Reservation in favour of certain categories:-
(1) Seats shall be reserved in favour of persons belonging to Scheduled Caste and
Scheduled Tribes and other Backward classes (Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB) to such
extent as may be notified by the State Government under Article 15 (4) of the constitution.
Seats shall also be reserved in favour of physically handicapped to the extent specified in
sub rule (2). Seats shall also be reserved to such extent specified in rule 11 sub-rule(2) of in
favour of in service candidates.
(b) In-service quota, there shall be distribution of seats among physically disabled, SC,
ST, category I and General Merit categories only.
(c) In case persons claiming reservation, failed to produce caste or income and
category certificates issued by the Tahasildhar shall result in forfeiture of his claim
for reservation and he shall be considered as a candidate belonging to General
Merit Category only.
(2) Minimum Criteria for Physically Disabled Candidates:- The minimum
percentage of marks for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Ayush courses shall be
45% for persons with locomotory disability. 3% seats of the annual sanctioned intake
capacity shall be filled up by candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs between
50% to 70%:
Provided that, in case of any seat in 3% quota remains unfilled on account of non
availability of eligible candidates with locomotory disability then such unfilled seat shall be
filled up by persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% - In case
no persons with above disability is available the said seats may be filled by General
Category candidates.
(b) Candidates with Physical Disability ranging above 40% shall produce a Medical
Certificate issued by Chairman, State Disability Board or any equivalent authority of State
of Karnataka in the field of concerned disability along with the application form for the
entrance test. Candidates suffering from hearing disability shall obtain and produce a
BSER (Brain Stem Evoked Response) Audiometry Report from National Institute of Mental
Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) / Manipal Hospital / Government Speech and
Hearing Institute, Lingarajapuram, Bangalore. At the time of counseling, the candidates
required to appear for verification before a Committee comprising of the Registrar of the
University, Bangalore, as the Chairman and three specialists from the department of
Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT). The Medical Board shall
examine the candidate and certify the percentage of disability and the decision of the
Medical Board shall be final. For the purpose of this proviso, persons with the disability
shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the ‘Persons with Disabilities (Equal
Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Participation) Act 1995 (Central Act 1 of 1995). The
candidates with disability of less than 40% shall not be eligible for claiming a seat under
Physically Disabled Category. The candidates selecting seat under Physical disability quota
are ineligible to select a seat in the first round of counseling.
(c) Medical committee for verification of physically disabled candidates.- Subject
to provisions of these rules, there shall be Medical Committee for verification of Physically
disabled candidates, consists of the following, namely:-

NOTE: (1) The Physically Disabled candidates who fail to appear before the committee on
the day fixed for verification shall not be eligible for selection of a seat under Physically Disabled quota.
(2) “The Seats under Physically disabled quota shall be allotted to eligible physically disabled candidates on inter-se-merit basis considering marks obtained in the entrance examination, based on the seats notified by the Government of Karnataka”.
(3) Requests for change of category after the last date for submission of applications will not be entertained.
6. The candidates claiming Reservation under Hyderabad Karnataka Region. The candidates claiming Reservation under Hyderabad Karnataka Region as local persons should produce the relevant certificate issued by the Jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner of the Revenue Sub-Division for claiming reservation under Article 371J (Hyderabad - Karnataka Region). Non production of the certificate during Document Verification will result to rejection of his claim.
7. Minimum criteria for In-Service candidates:-
(1) The in-service Candidates shall have to fulfill the following conditions; namely.-
(a) It is mandatory for the in-service candidates to appear for the entrance test.
(b) The applications shall be verified and forwarded by the concerned Heads of
Departments i.e. Director of AYUSH/ Heads of Autonomous Institutions /
Heads of Boards and Corporations.
(c) The Head of the Departments shall forward the applications of only such
candidates who fulfill all the criteria mentioned in the application form.
(d) Advance copies from candidates shall not be entertained.
(2) In-Service Candidates shall furnish the following information’s, namely,-
(a) Whether they have been deputed to any postgraduate degree courses earlier
by the Government.
(b) Whether any enquiry is pending against him.
(c) Whether he is under suspension / unauthorized absence.
(d) The In-Service candidates shall fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria
prescribed in these rules for others candidates.
(e) Out of the total number of seats in each Specialty, 30% of the seats shall be
reserved for In-Service Teaching, Non-Teaching, and Candidates from other
cadre.

Provided that, if no candidate is selected in Teaching, Non-Teaching and
candidates from other cadre, then such seats shall be added to the seats set
apart under General Merit Category.
(f) As Post Graduate Course is not available in Government Homoeopathy and
Government Unani Medical Colleges, the In-Service Candidates / Doctors
working in AYUSH Department are entitled to join any college/Institution
offering Post Graduate Course on their own option without being entitled to
claim refund of fee or deputation to the college to which he has opted to join.
(g) Reservation of seats for In-Service Candidates:- Orders issued by the
Government from time to time regarding Reservation of seats for Candidates
belonging to SC and ST and Other Categories shall be complied.
Procedure for selection of In-Service candidates for admission:- The procedure for
selection of In-Service candidates for admission post graduation courses in AYUSH is
as follows, namely:-
(i) No in-service candidate shall be eligible for admission under these rules;
(a) Unless he has put in not less than five years of regular service in the concerned department as on last date of application.
(b) Unless he has satisfactorily completed the prescribed period of probation.
(ii) No in-service candidate shall be eligible for admission to Post Graduate Degree
course in any subject other than the Specialty in which he is working.
(iii) An in-service candidate who is already holding a Post Graduate Degree in any
Specialty shall not be eligible for admission to any other Post Graduate Degree
(iv) An in-service candidate who is studying in any Post-Graduate Degree course
shall not be eligible for admission under these rules.
(v) No candidate who is above forty five years as on the last date fixed for receipt of
application shall be eligible for admission.
(vi) In addition to the above, in-service doctors shall furnish the information sought
in the application form and heads of the departments shall verify and forward
the applications to the concerned entrance test conducting agency
(vii) Incomplete and incorrect applications are liable for rejection. No changes shall
be entertained after the submission of application.
(viii) Advance copies from in-service candidates shall not be entertained.
(ix) The In-service candidates shall produce a declaration as given below along with
the application form i.e., I solemnly and sincerely affirm that the information
furnished by me in this form are true and correct.
8. Certificates to be enclosed along with the application:-

The following attested photocopies of certificates are required to be sent for registration along with the application:
i. S.S.L.C. Marks Card (For age proof and parent’s name).
ii. Birth Certificate/Cumulative Record/any other certificate for proof of place of birth
iii. BAMS/BHMS/BNYS Marks Card of all Phases/Years
iv. Degree Certificate issued by the University
v. Attempt Certificate issued by the Principal of concerned college
vi. Compulsory Rotatory Internship completion Certificate or probable date of completion, issued by the Principal of the College
vii. Council/Board Registration Certificate
viii. Domicile Certificate issued by the Tahasildar of Karnataka or Study Certificate from 1st to 10th Standard.
ix. Valid Income & Category Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahasildar of Karnataka, (if claimed reservation)
x. Disability Certificate if claimed under Physically Handicapped quota
xi. Probationary declaration certificate (for in-service candidates)
xii. Any other certificate
Xiii Certificate under article 371 – J for climbing reservation under HK region issued by competent authority.
9. General Information:-
A The candidates shall appear for the Entrance Test at their own cost.
Each candidate is given a Register Number consisting of one alphabet followed by four numbers. The alphabet will be A or H or Y (A for Ayurveda, H for Homoeopathy and Y for Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences). The four numerical numbers will be the actual Register Number of the candidate.
All the marks cards and certificates submitted along with the application are
subject to verification at the initial stage for Registration and issue of Hall Ticket
for the Entrance Test. Detailed verification will be made before the candidate is
allowed for seat selection. It is the responsibility of the candidate to furnish all
original marks cards and certificates for verification at the time of seat selection.
Failure to produce the originals for any reason will result in forfeiture of
his/her claim for selection of seat.
Failure to produce valid Income and Category Certificate issued by the
Tahasildar will result in forfeiture of his/her claim for reservation and he/she
will be considered as a candidate belonging to General category only. Requests
for change of category after submission of applications will not be
entertained.
No refund of application fee for any reason is permissible.
10. Conduct of Entrance Test:-
(1) Date, Time and place etc.,
(a) Date of Entrance Test : 07/06/2015, Time : 10-00 A.M. to 11-30 A.M.
(b) Place of Entrance Test : Bangalore City only.

(c) Biometrics Verification:- Candidates intending to take the Post Graduate
Entrance Test shall be required to undergo Biometric verification; (i) during the
test; (ii) during centralized counseling for seat selection; (iii) at the college level
during the admission process in order to ensure fairness to the merited students
and to eliminate fraudulent attempts. Any mismatch at any stage shall
automatically result in disqualification of the candidate and he shall not be
permitted to participate in any further process of seat selection and admission to
PG course. Further, impostors are liable for criminal prosecution.
(d) Syllabus:- The Syllabus content shall, ordinarily, be equal to the syllabus and
books prescribed for Under-graduate courses as per Regulations of Central
Council of Indian Medicine/Central Council of Homoeopathy or Government of
Karnataka and the Rajiv Gandhi Universities of Health Sciences.
(2) Duration, Nature of Question Paper and Answer Sheet:-
(i) The Entrance Test shall be conducted in English;- (ii) There shall be one Question Paper (booklet) of One Hour Thirty Minutes duration
consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions. There shall be four versions of the question paper booklet and therefore Serial Number of question differs from version to version;
(iii) Questions shall be multiple choice types, each having one best response out of four alternatives;
(iv) Each question carries one mark. Correct answer shall be awarded -one mark. no negative valuation;
(v) The key answer considered shall be most appropriate answer only.
(3) Computation of result criteria.- (1) The minimum eligibility marks for admission to PG Course in respect of-
(i) General category shall be 50% in Post Graduate Entrance Test- AYUSH (PGET-
AYUSH) for “GM” and 40% in PGET for candidates belongs to “SC, ST & OBC”. (ii) 45% in PGET-AYUSH for PH candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs
between 40% to 70%. (iii) Merit list shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in PGET-AYUSH. (iv) If candidates have secured equal marks in PGET-AYUSH the merit shall be
determined, who has taken less attempts in Under Graduate (UG) course. (v) If candidates have secured equal marks in PGET-AYUSH and has taken equal
number of attempts in UG, then merit shall be determined on the basis of total
marks secured in UG degree.
(vi) If candidates have secured equal marks in PGET-AYUSH, and has taken equal
number of attempts in UG and has secured equal percentage of total marks in UG
then merit shall be determined based on the final year marks in UG degree.
(4) Challenging of Key answers:-
(i) The candidate may challenge maximum of 05 notified keys answers. The candidate willing to challenge the keys answers shall remit the fee of rupees one thousand per each question through Demand Draft in favour of Registrar, RGUHS, Bangalore which is not refundable.
(ii) All challenges shall be scrutinized by subject experts, whose decision in the
matter shall be final. (5) Re-totalling:-
(i) The candidates may apply for re-totaling and verification of marks. The candidate willing to apply for re-totaling shall remit a fee of rupees two thousand through

Demand Draft in favour of Registrar, RGUHS, Bangalore in person. No authorized representatives are entertained.
(ii) All OMR Sheets shall be scrutinized by the Committee and its decision in the
matter shall be the final. Fee shall not be refunded.
(6) Availability of seats in different courses and colleges:- (i) Details of the precise number of seats in different courses and colleges, their
classification and category wise reservation shall be announced by the University after receiving the communication from the Government.
(ii) Subjects shall be arranged in the alphabetical order, the colleges offering post graduate courses shall also be arranged alphabetically within the categories of the Government colleges, aided colleges, Private Un-Aided colleges and Deemed to be Universities colleges.
(iii) From the year 2014-15 onwards fresh roaster (General) shall be started and shall be continued in future years and the subject wise roaster shall be discontinued. The previous year roaster point shall not be carried forward in the current year.
11. Counseling for allotment of seats:-
(a) The calendar of events and all other details of counseling for selection of seat
process shall be notified by Agency. No individual intimation will be sent to the candidates. The candidate shall personally appear for the seat selection through counseling.
12. Procedure for Conducting of Counseling:-
(A) First Round:-
(i) The first round of counseling for entrance of candidates shall be conducted
for those who have qualified in the Entrance Test.
(ii) For the In – Service candidates, the first round of counseling shall be
conducted for the candidates who have qualified in the entrance Test.
(iii) The seats shall be allotted according to the seat matrix issued by the
Government of Karnataka with the category wise seats.
(B) Second Round and De-categorized or casual vacancy Round:-
(i) For any unfilled seats of the first round and the surrendered seats after the
first round, the second round of counseling shall be conducted. If any seats
reserved for in service quota remains unfilled after second round it shall be
transferred to the General Merit category candidates and shall be filled in the
de-categorized casual vacancy round.
(ii) For any unfilled seats of the first round and the surrendered seats after the
first round and the unfilled seats of the in-service quota taken together shall
be categorized and shall be offered during second round of counseling for
Entrance Test candidates, followed by de-categorized casual vacancy round
of counseling.
13. Admission of selected candidates:-
(1) The selected candidates shall get themselves admitted to the colleges allotted
within the dates notified by the committee, failing which their selection shall

stand automatically cancelled. However, the admission shall be provisional and
subject to the approval by the University.
(2) The Principals of respective colleges shall also verify the original certificates of
selected candidates before admitting them to the courses.
(3) No request for change of subjects or courses or colleges (Migration Transfer)
shall be entertained by the Committee after publication of the list under these
Regulations.
(4) No Migration Transfer shall be permitted at the Post Graduation level from One
Specialization to another Specialization.
14. Determination of fees:-
The fee for the courses under these rules for Government seats shall be fixed by
Government.
15. Penalty for false and incorrect statements:-
Where an applicant has furnished any false and incorrect statement in the
application or where the affidavit filed by him or the certificate furnished by him
contains any false or incorrect statement, the application shall be liable for
rejection and his selection for admission to the Post- Graduate Degree course
shall be cancelled after providing a reasonable opportunity to explain by the
Entrance Test Committee.
16. Forfeiture of seats selected:-
(1) Every candidate including in-service candidate shall pay a sum of Rs. 50,000/-
(Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) to the Government in case he/she takes allotment
order during counseling and fails to join the course.
(2) All the selected candidates (except in-service candidates), at the time of admission
shall furnish a bond on a stamped paper of Rs. 100/- binding himself/herself to
pay a sum of rupees fifty thousand along with entire stipendiary amount received
by him/her in the event of leaving the course before its successful completion.
(3) All the selected in-service candidates, at the time of admission shall furnish a bond
in the Form No.19 specified in KCSRs on stamp paper of value of rupees one
hundred binding himself/herself to pay a sum of rupees fifty thousand as penalty
in the event of his/her leaving the course before its completion and shall also be
debarred for three years from appearing for Entrance Test. All the selected in-
service candidates at the time of admission shall furnish a bond to the effect that
they shall be rendering service in the Government for a minimum period of ten
years or till the attainment of superannuation whichever is earlier, failing which the
amount spent on him for course shall be recovered from him.
(4) The Government shall be the competent authority to sanction the deputation of
Government servants for higher studies of specialized training. If Government
servant who has been deputed for higher studies or Specialized had not shown
sufficient progress in the studies or had failed to complete the course in proper
time it may terminate the period of deputation and direct the Government servant
to refund or recover from him/her the entire expenditure incurred on his/her
deputation including the salary and studied paid for the period of deputation and

extension of time if any. Granted for completion of higher study or specialized
training.
(5) Every candidate shall pay the remaining period course fee to the
Government/Aided/Un-Aided/Deemed to be University colleges in the event he
leaving the course before its completion. Provided that in case of an in-service
candidate, the amount equal to the fee for remaining period of course shall be
recovered from the salary of such in-service candidate.
17. Malpractice: Any candidate indulging in mal-practice in any sort shall be viewed seriously and punished and also is liable for criminal proceedings. the committee can make guidelines in this regard. 18. Instructions to Candidates:
The candidates shall be present at the centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the test.
Only the candidates who possess the Hall Ticket shall be allowed to appear for the Entrance Test. In case of loss of Hall Ticket, the candidates should contact the Chief Superintendent of the centre one hour earlier for assistance.
No Candidate shall copy from the paper of any other candidate or permit his / her own papers to be copied or attempt to give or seek any illegal assistance.
No candidate will be admitted to the examination hall after the commencement of the Entrance Test.
No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the first thirty minutes. Candidates leaving the hall prior to the end of the Entrance Test will have to hand over the question paper and OMR sheet to room invigilator and collect the same at the end of the test.
No candidate should leave the room without handing over his / her OMR sheet to the Invigilator.
Candidate should sign the attendance sheet as per the instructions of the invigilator.
Silence must be observed in the examination hall. Any candidate found guilty of disorderly or improper conduct will be liable for expulsion from the examination hall and will be debarred from the Entrance test by the Chief Superintendent of the centre.
Candidates are not permitted to carry any electronic gadgets like Pager, Cell Phone, Blue tooth etc., into the examination hall.
Candidates defacing the OMR sheet or erasing the marked oval by eraser/blade/any sharp object are liable for disqualification. Usage of white ink is prohibited.
Even a minute, inadvertent touch or drop of ink on other oval makes the answer invalid. Think before ink.
