The Wilmington River Walk

Out along the Atlantic, warmed by the Gulf Stream, Wilmington Beach makes its living as a resort, a busy port and an aspiring movie capital. In autumn, the storybook oak-lined streets of Wilmington are cool and quiet.

North Carolina Beaches

Rated by Natural Resources Defense Council as one of the safest for fishing, wildlife and swimming

The Triangle is just

4 Hours from the Carolina Mountains

Asheville is an Appalachian Shangri-La. This year-round resort town, tucked between the

Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains, draws a funky mix of New Agers, fleece-clad mountain

bikers, and antiques lovers. Charming yet surprisingly cosmopolitan for a town of

about 73,000, Asheville has a Southern appeal all its own. From cafes to buzzing

bistros, Art Deco skyscrapers and arcades reminiscent of Paris, Kayaking and one of the

world's largest private homes — the Biltmore Estate, a French Renaissance-style mansion

with 250 rooms.

… no wonder so many locals first started

out as tourists.

… “THE HURRICANES”

Professional Hockey Team

“The Hurricanes' performance gave the franchise its first National Hockey League championship, and for the second time in a row, a Sunbelt team was able to stop a team from Alberta.” NHL website.

Two trips to the Stanley Cup finals and one win turned something around in the tobacco state, because what I saw there really surprised me. Genuine, crazy, knowledgeable hockey fans.
