• 3 seats out of 21 assembly seats are reserved for SCs in east godavari district as per the population

• Earlier mummidivaram used to be reserved• 2 seats decreased as relative population of the district

compared to state pop. decreased.• Mandals reshuffled as vanished constituencies`mandals

are adjusted.• Gannavaram (30.26%), razole(27.79%),

amalpuram(27.93%) became reserved while mummidivaram(25.89%) became open seat.

Fishermen rights• Traditionally fishermen are seasonal

migrants.hence in many fishing villages,they don`t have clear title for their houses or sites on which they process their catch.

• It is necessary to legislate an act similar to that which recognises forest dwellers rights.

Marine rights• If we culture fish in a pond, we will wait for the

fish to mature before harvesting.• But in the open places like rivers, seas, fishermen

are resorting to frequent fishing due to competition. Hence average yield is decreasing. Matured fishes are decreasing. Hence the capacity of a fish population to rejuvenate is decreasing.

• If we give marine fishing rights, fishermen will wait till the fish harvest is productive as he will do if it is his own pond.

Forest dwellers act• Local committees are not yet

formed as per forest dwellers act as local officials are not well versed with this act.

• There is a large area of mangrove reserve forest in katrenikona and thallarevu mandals

Seasonal hostel intervention

• Sarva siksha abhiyan innovation• Seasonal hostel will be setup in a suitable place

within the village where 30-50 children whose parents have migrated can be accomodated.

• Facilities provided boarding,breakfast and dinner.payment for volunteer,helper and cook.

• People from katrenikona and thallarevu migrate along the coast into orissa for 6 months

• Sarva siksha abhiyan innovation• Sort of bridge school for fishing

communites` children.

Public health

• PHC at mummidivaram was upgraded. But not shifted to APvaidya vidhan parishad.

• There are few specialists under director of health. As the posts are specialist posts, they are vacant.

• PHC Doctor post at katrenikona is vacant.• Several paramedical posts are vacant.

Ambulance on boat• Many villages are easily accessible by water.• Rajahmundry-korangi canal is part of

extension plan of the proposed inland waterway of kakinada –chennai waterway.

• Boat ambulance with standard specification should be brought to use.

• There is provision of funding under NRHM• Base station must be developed in

yedurlanka

Thallarevu • Chollangipeta,Gvemavaram, uppangala,

neelapalle,sunkarapalem, injaram,latchipalem,pillanka are in the distance of 5-10 km from PHC.

• Chollangi is 10 km away from PHC• Subcentres development should be given

preference in these villages while the rest of the villages in the mandal can avail PHC as they are within 5KM distant.

bantumilli are in the range of 5-10km from PHC(primary health centre).

• Brahmasamedyam is above 10 km distant from PHC (primary health centre)

• Accordingly importance should be given to villages subcentres.

• Accordingly, subcentres should be developed.

• Both MSSRF and Byrraju foundation are establishing village knowledge centres.

• With the coordination of mandal dev. Officer, the set models should be replicated immediately.

• The said village knowledge centres is innovation of govt. of india.

• But villages not associated with byrraju foundation are losing the oppurtunity

Hostels for girls in schools and colleges

• Scheme for providing hostel facilities to sc girls.

• Grant in aid is given to the educational institutions willing to expand their hostel facilities.

development corporation) envisages a plan to promote cluster concept at block level.

• Provision for a resource centre for PACS at mandal level.
