Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and is usually observed as the month of fasting. Muslims observe a daytime fast for 30 days of Ramadan month. There are various rules defined for Ramadan fasting.Here we are sharing a complete guide for Muslims who are not

very much aware of these rules.

Basic rules of fasting for Ramadan

• You cannot eat or drink anything from dawn (Sunrise) till dusk (Sunset).• You must have strong intention to fast• You must stay away from wrong acts including

1. Intentional Eating or Drinking2. Intentional Vomiting3. Intentional Sexual Intercourse4. Menstrual or Childbirth Bleeding

These above actions will invalidate your fasting.

Here are the things that you are allowed to do while fasting for Ramadan

Who are exempted of Fasting?

Who cannot fast?

Though the Islam doesn’t stop anyone with good intentions from fasting, there are some rules defined by scholars for those who are not allowed to observe fasting during Ramadan

For now, there is only one rule for women who are experiencing post-childbirth bleeding or are in their menses are not allowed to fast until their bleeding ends.

Recommendations during Ramadan Fasting

Following things are recommended for someone who is fasting for Ramadan

• Having suhuur (pre-dawn meal) just before fajr (dawn) time

• break the fast (iftar) at sunset• break the fast by eating an odd number of

fresh or dry dates• supplicating at the time of breaking the fast• pray taraaweeh daily after Isha• recitation and study of the Qur'an
