ramadan, the month of forgiveness
TRANSCRIPT
The Month of Ramadan, The Month
of Forgiveness
Allah granted us this month to purify our
wayward hearts from the blackness of sins we
have inflicted upon it. It is a month to renew
and refresh our life, to start worshipping Him.
It is a month where we should return and
repent to Him and beg Him for salvation.
Abu Hurayrah, (may Allah be pleased with
him) reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him)
said: When there comes the month of
Ramadan, the gates of Paradise are opened,
and the gates of Hell are locked and the
devils are chained.
(Muslim)
Narrated Abu Hurayrah: Allah's Apostle said:
"Whoever establishes prayers during the
nights of Ramadan faithfully out of
sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's
rewards (not for showing off), all his past
sins will be forgiven." Bukhari (Book #2,
Hadith #36)
Narrated Abu Hurayrah: Allah's Apostle
said, "Whoever observes fasts during the
month of Ramadan out of sincere faith,
and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then
all his past sins will be forgiven."
Bukhari (Book #2, Hadith#37)
Narrated Abu Hurayrah: Allah's Apostle
said, "When the month
of Ramadan starts, the gates of the
heaven are opened and the gates of
Hell are closed and the devils are
chained."
Bukhari (Book #31, Hadith #123)
Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet said, "Whoever believes in Allah
and His Apostle offers prayers perfectly and fasts (the month
of) Ramadan then it is incumbent upon Allah to admit him into
Paradise, whether he emigrates for Allah's cause or stays in the land
where he was born." They (the companions of the Prophet) said, "O
Allah's Apostle! Should we not inform the people of that?" He said,
"There are one-hundred degrees in Paradise which Allah has prepared
for those who carry on Jihad in His Cause. The distance between every
two degrees is like the distance between the sky and the Earth, so if you
ask Allah for anything, ask Him for the Firdaus, for it is the last part of
Paradise and the highest part of Paradise, and at its top there is the
Throne of Beneficent, and from it gush forth the rivers of
Paradise." Bukhari (Book #93, Hadith #519)
Abu Hurayrah reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: He who observed prayer at night during Ramadan,
because of faith and seeking his reward from Allah, his previous sins would be
forgiven.
Sahih Muslim
(Book #004, Hadith #1662)
Abu Hurayrah reported Allah's Messenger (may
peace be upon him) as saying: He who observed
the fasts of Ramadan with faith and seeking
reward (from Allah), all his previous sins would
be forgiven, and he who observed prayer on
Lailat-ul- Qadr with faith and seeking reward
(from Allah), all his previous sins would be
forgiven.
Sahih Muslim (Book #004, Hadith #1664)
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased
with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be
upon him) ascended the minbar and said: “Ameen, ameen,
ameen.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, you
ascended the minbar and said, “Ameen, ameen, ameen.”
He said: “Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and
said “If Ramadan comes and a person is not forgiven, he
will enter Hell and Allah will cast him far away. Say
Ameen.” So I said Ameen. He said “O Muhammad, if
both or one of a person’s parents are alive and he does
not honour them and he dies, he will enter Hell and Allah
will cast him far away. Say Ameen.” So I said Ameen. He
said: “If you are mentioned in a person’s presence and he
does not send blessings upon you and he dies, he will
enter Hell and Allah will cast him far away. Say Ameen.”
So I Said Ameen.” ( Tirmidhi)

“O Allah! Make us those that thank You for Your blessings, who are
content with Your will, and who hold firmly to Your Rope (i.e. Islam, by
faith and practice). We seek Your help and we seek Your forgiveness. We
believer in You, we praise You, we do not refute You. We forgo and leave
he who disobeys You. O Allah! We worship You and to You do we pray
and prostrate. To You do we strive and hasten. We hope for Your mercy
and we fear Your severe punishment. Indeed Your punishment will meet
the non-believers.”
May Allah shower His Forgiveness and Blessings upon us all this Month of Ramadan!
