As Salam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatahu. We pray this newsletter reaches you in the best of health and imaan. The blessed month of Ramadhan is upon us and we pray Allah (swt) blesses you with his mercy. As a generous donor to Surti Orphanage and Darul Uloom Kulsum, we would like to extend our gratitude for your ongoing support which has helped to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy that was rife in the District of Dih- Sarsauna, Bihar. Your support has been truly life-changing. As well as receiving an opportunity to access education, children are provided with books, stationary, three nutritious meals a day as well as a safe and secure environment in which to learn. There are currently 126 students at Darul Uloom Kulsum, 90 of which reside in the hostel. A curriculum covering English, Maths, Computer Studies, Hindi, Urdu, Quran and Islamic Studies, equip the students with the confidence and skills they need to succeed in life as well as nourishing their spiritual development. 1 SURTI ORPHANAGE AND DARUL ULOOM KULSUM RAMADHAN NEWSLETTER MAY/JUNE 2018 UPDATES This year, 2 further students have accomplished hafiz of the Quran, making a total of 39 students. Your donations have allowed us to support the health and overall well- being of our students. This year we invested in new bedding for students residing in-house. Each year all students are also provided with 2 sets of new clothing for the occasion of Eid.

Each year, we appeal to our generous donors, to raise annual funds to cover the cost of food, books, educational material, clothing, medical provisions, Madarsa staff salaries and maintenance costs of the daily running of the school, hostel infrastructure and facilities.
