Ramechhap Shelter Flyover Flight route:

– East and west boundary river valleys of Northern Ramecchap with views to Dolakha on the West and Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga on the East

– Population of 202,646 with 43,910 Households (2011 Census)

– 99% of households reported housing damage as a result of the earthquakes

– 92% of housing is reported to be mud-bonded brick/stone construction

– 80% of households reported that they feel unsafe in the shelter they are living in

Recommendations: – Shelter assistance in Ramechhap appears to have been largely sporadic

and seemingly uncoordinated particularly in the northern and eastern edges of the district. More shelter assistance is clearly needed, particular in the forms of roofing and training.

– A number of seemingly well made stone houses appear to have performed remarkably well and would warrant further investigation so as to provide better guidance to reconstruction
