Delegate Nominees:

Hi Everyone, I cannot believe it is November already. U.S. Nationals is over, leaves are turning color, horses are wearing their blankets, and we have "fallen back'" off daylight savings time. Per the RCAHA bylaws, anyone running for delegate should submit a letter of intent to the Board to be published in the newsletter prior to the election:

This letter is to state my intent to run once again for RCAHA Delegate. As vice director of Region One, an Arabian judge, and a very active AHA member, I would like to be considered as a delegate. Thank you, Kathy Callahan Smith

Dear fellow RCAHA Members and Board of Directors: Please accept this letter as my request to be elected as a delegate for RCAHA for the year 2018. I have served this club since 1988 serving as president for two different years, served as a delegate for many years, and was membership chair for over 13 years. I have served as a director of Region One and feel that I am well qualified to serve as a delegate for RCAHA. I am currently serving as the club membership chairperson. Thank you for your consideration. Diana Bein

As a retired member of the Cargill National Equine Enterprise team, I provided equine nutrition education for consumers. I have earned the designation Professional Animal Scientist, and I am a member of the Equine Science Society. In addition, I served as an adjunct professor at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio in the equine studies department where I taught equine nutrition to junior and senior students. I have been a featured speaker on the topic of equine nutrition at the Wellington Equestrian Festival, USEA Convention, the Equine Affaire in Massachusetts and Ohio, Ohio State University, Michigan State, Cornell, the AAEP, New York State Racing Commission, and Miami University. I also serve as committee member on the Arabian Horse Association’s equine stress and education, amateur, and sport horse committees. I served as vice president for the District 1 National Show Horse Association and was a contributor to the Nutrena® blog, The Feed Room. As an active member of Region 14, I was honored to receive the director’s award for outstanding service to OHAHA and the Region 14 Sport Horse Rider/Handler of the Year award. Prior to our move to California in March of 2017, my husband and I owned and operated Academy Farms Limited, which was an Arabian Discovery Farm in northeast Ohio for the past 17 years. I would like your consideration as a delegate for RCAHA. Gayle M. Reveron, PAS

Delegate Nominees:

RCAHA Board of Directors and members: I would like to continue as your delegate for RCAHA. I was a delegate in the late 1980’s, for RCAHA in the early 1990’s, and again from 2013 to the present. There is still a lot of work to be done. I have been raising Arabians for over 35 years, volunteering at our shows, and serving on the Board for many years. I showed a little, raced Arabians for 10 years, and admire our breed for the wonderful diversity and qualities it offers. I feel I can represent all of our members whether they show, ride endur-ance, race, or just enjoy their horses. I have the best interest of our Arabians in mind. I would appreciate your sup-port. Thank you, Leslie Smith
