PREFACE This report is prepared keeping in view the importance of rate analysis in estimation and costing of civil engineering projects. Rate analysis is the backbone of estimation, therefore it is very important to analyze current market rates as well as past market rates before starting the process of estimation and valuation. For this purpose rates of different items of work are obtained from the market periodically, and kept in record for future analysis. The following report also contains current market rates of materials, services and labor taken from three different locations within the city of Karachi, during 05-09-2012 to 20-10-2012.
