brandeis university global youth summit

A Level student Raissa Shrestha has been selected from a very competitive pool to attend the Brandeis University Global Youth Summit to be held from 26 June to 2 July, 2016. The Global Youth Summit is a seven-day residential program for high school students at Brandeis University. Student delegates attending the summit will focus on the future of the healthcare industry as well as develop leadership, networking, and collaborative skills necessary to be leaders in the field. Congratulations Raissa.

orientation for new parents

An Orientation will be held on the 29 April, 2016 at 9:00 am in the school auditorium for Grade I parents and new parents from other grades. All new parents are invited to attend this session. This session will be conducted by the Director and Principal of RBS and will acquaint the parents with the history of the school, parenting tips, the Rato Bangala philosophy and the Outreach programme of the school.

curriculum night

The Curriculum Night is the first meeting of the academic year between the parents and the teachers of each grade. This is an opportunity for the teachers to present the curriculum of the year and for parents to interact with teachers. It is very important for parents to attend the Curriculum Night in order to understand the curriculum for the year, as well as to meet the teachers and the other parents in their child’s class. The Curriculum Night meetings are scheduled as follows:

3 May: Grade I, 5:15 pm5 May: Grade II, 5:15 pm8 May: Grade X at 9:00 a.m. 13 May: Grades: III, IV & V, 5:15 pm20 May: Grades VI, VII, 5:15 pm

22 May: Grades VIII & IX, 9:00 amPlease note that Grade VIII, IX and X are meeting in the morning.

The Rato Bangala School magazine, Cornice, is sent home at the beginning of each academic year. It represents the creativity and writing talents of the students. It also reflects the varied class projects and writing across the curriculum. We thank parents and friends who have continued to support Cornice with advertisements and have made it possible to distribute it free of cost to all the RBS students as well as to schools around the country.

Rato Bangala School works together with parents to meet the shared goal of educating the child in the best way possible. Parents have the option of becoming Parent Representatives for their class in order to facilitate communication between home and school. During the Curriculum Night, two interested parents volunteer to be the Parent Representatives for the academic year.

positions in the parent teacher association (pta)

From the academic year 2003/2004 Rato Bangala set up a Parent Teacher Association. There are 6 parents and 6 teachers in the PTA and the Principal/Director. Two parents, each represent Grades I-III,

IV-VI, and VII-X respectively. Parents will qualify for PTA representative candidate only after their child has completed a year at Rato Bangala. This year there will be 3 positions vacant. Interested parents are requested to volunteer for PTA positions.
