DISCIPLINE: We will be recognized as a disciplined defense. We will dowhat we are coached to do on each and every play. Discipline in practice willenable us to develop good habits.

Eliminate Mental Mistakes: Most defensive breakdowns that allow big

plays are the result of a mental mistake. By practicing with totalconcentration and learning our assignments, we will eliminate mental errors.

Pursuit: We will get 11 people to the football on every play. It does not take agreat athlete to run with great effort to the football; it takes a football playerwith a great attitude. We want as many Bruin helmets on the ball carrier aspossible. We will wear down our opponent in the 4th quarter.

Tackling: We will be the best tackling team in the state. We emphasizerepeating the fundamentals every day in practice. We will punish ballcarries and develop the attitude necessary to be a physically dominatingdefensive football team.

Sudden Change: We must accept the challenge of stopping our opponent

after we have turned the ball over. We will go into a Sudden Change serieswith the attitude of getting the ball back and regaining the psychologicaladvantage.

Stop the Run: No one will run the ball successfully against our defense. Wewill commit as many people to the L.O.S. as necessary in order to stop therun. No one will run the football against us.

Control the Pass: We are primarily a zone coverage team. We will takeaway the long ball and force our opponent to throw into our underneathcoverage. We will break on the ball and create collisions, turnovers andincomplete passes.

All Linebackers along with the safety will wear wristbands.

Wristbands will have the total defensive playbook on them.

Wristbands will have each defensive game plan on them.

Each call is broken down into pods with a single word and number.

Ex. Jacks 1 Bama 5 Tuff 2 tag Apache

All secondary calls are tags, we can tag a secondary call to any play.
