Introduction
Although filled with great minds and brilliant ideas, developing countries -like Egypt- face a substantial problem that lies in the fact that undergraduates in the scientific field have superficial knowledge about the RCR (Responsible Conduct of Research).
Goal
To implement the study of the RCR in the curricula
of scientific schools - particularly the school of
medicine- in Ain Shams University in order to
provide undergraduates with basic knowledge
about it.
Our Objectives
Conduct research projects without plagiarism, falsification or fabrication.
Execute research projects in a way that protects the human subjects and respects their rights.
Achieve reasonable beneficence for the human being, and animals as well.
Write the authors of a research project in a correct manner
Our Objectives
Build a clear, correct and righteous relationship between mentor and trainees or between members in collaborative teams while conducting a research project.
Solve any conflict either financial, work commitments or intellectual and personal matters while conducting a research project.
Act efficiently while submitting research paper in a journal for peer reviewing by being aware of this process.
We presented Responsible conduct of research (RCR) in an interactive and creative way, in the form of a maze that contains different stations, each with a different topic concerning the RCR.
The campaign included posters, banners, brochures and booklets
Campaign days 17th & 18th March, 2013
Four Committee for Preparation
OMMITTEECCIENTIFICS-A[A] A comparative cross-sectional study was done to assess the
level of knowledge of the medical students of Ain Shams University of the RCR before and after our association conducted an awareness campaign regarding the subject.
We designed a self administrated questionnaire with the following criteria:
1- Stratified (through the whole 6 years)
2 - Number: 600
3 - A pilot study was done 1 week before the main pre-assessment
And the post-campaign questionnaire was done as an online self-administered questionnaire sent to the campaign attendees via email starting from the 30th of March 2013.
[B] Booklet about RCR
The booklet (30) papers discusses briefly Responsible Conduct of Research, This task got achieved in one and half month
The editors organized a training workshop for AMSRA members before the campaign
OMMITTEECCIENTIFICS-A
C] The 2 days of the RCR campaign:
Providing PR committee with the scientific material needed in the campaign (case studies, diagrams)
Assigning at least two scientific team members for each station to cover the topics included in the campaign
OMMITTEECCIENTIFICS-A
6 stations were designed , they were discussing : 1. Research misconduct 2. Animal Welfare 3. Human Subject Protection 4. Mentor and trainee relationship
& Authorship 5. Conflict of interest 6. Summarizer
B- PUBLIC RELATION COMMITTEE
Designing the campaign including the final form, speech, booths, decorations, AMSRA presentation

The issue of poor reception among undergraduate students is expected to hold us back from getting our idea into practice.
This was resolved through the utilization of communication-trained AMSRA members, proper, simple and eye-catching design of the campaign materials, and the implementation of attractive activities throughout the campaign.
However we faced financial problems due to our limited budget and inability to expand our activity and having more materials available.

The analysis of the data collected via the questionnaires will help us define the basic knowledge of our target group. This analysis will provide a starting point for future projects including workshops through which students of the scientific schools can be familiarized with the RCR and a website to provide an e-learning platform for the workshop participants.
Also we will plan to repeat this campaign in other faculties and universities, our first target at the end of this year will be Faculty of Science – Cairo University .
We hope through our work we can Integrate Students in different research projects and help them publish their results and achieve with them the RCR.
