Together we form a $US5.2 billion business, positioning us as a global leader in the category.
Why pladis?
So why the name pladis? The name itself is a distorted version of Pleiades which is a constellation of 7 stars visible from every corner of the world. These stars are known around the world by different names and in the UK it is known as the seven sisters.
The wish is for the future to be as bright & permanent as these stars in the sky and the business rationale being we can leverage the combined power of our individual companies to be a global leader in biscuits and confectionary.
Our company is fun and playful and we present that with our unique newly created name - written in red and with a small p - we are different, unique and fun...

We will now look at the history of our global brands starting with Ulker, whose history goes back to 1944. Ulker is the number one biscuit and confectionery brand in Turkey and the Middle East. It was founded by Sabri and Asim Ulker, two brothers whose parents immigrated to Turkey from Crimea.
They started in a small bakery where they created the first Potibor (petit beurre) biscuits, and have today grown to 77 factories around the world – and they still make those much-loved biscuits today!

The brothers wanted to bring happiness to everyone through their delicious products and so they created a policy across the company to sell Ulker products at affordable prices. By making affordable, accessible and delicious products, Ulker has become part of the daily lives of many Turkish families, entwined in the lives of its consumers as a hallmark of quality and trust – it is a ‘love brand’ in Turkey.
Today Ulker is still a flagship brand within Yildiz Holding. While the business has grown to have a substantial presence in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, it remains committed to the same principles and values that the company began with over 70 years ago.

A typical pladis selection andinterview process….
Interview hints and tipsPreparing for your telephone interview
The telephone interview process will determine if you are suitable to progress for a particular role. Please allow 15-30 minutes dependant on the role and level you have applied for.
Below are some hints and tips which you may find useful:
● Find a quiet place where you will have no interruptions for the duration of the call.
● Make sure that your telephone line is working and that you are in an area with full network coverage - and enough battery life!
● Be prepared for the interview and do your research
● Familiarise yourself with the concept of behavioural based questions. Questions like “tell me about a time when….” or “Give me an example of…” and have a think about a few examples
● Be yourself - act naturally, the interviewer wants to get to know you
● It’s OK to ask questions - remember it’s a two way conversation
Preparing for your face-to-face interview
The face-to-face interview is a competency based interview designed to probe specific skills and behaviours required for the job. Dependant on the role and level, you may meet more than one hiring manager.
Below are some hints and tips which you may find useful:
● Preparing for a competency based interview is critical. Spend some time ‘dissecting’ the job advert and browsing our website. Looking for keywords will give you an indication of the type of competencies and behaviours that may be assessed in the recruitment process
● Think back over your past experience and situations you’ve been involved in that might demonstrate the behaviours we are looking for
● A useful technique to use is the STAR approach. This will help you to structure your response:
● Situation: what was the content of the situation?● Task: what was required for you (any
challenges?)● Action: what did you do?● Result: what was the outcome? Try and end on a
positive note. If it wasn’t the outcome you desired, what would you have done differently
