EASTER SACRAMENTS

We have three women preparing to receive their first sacraments during the Easter Vigil through the process of the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Please pray for Heather, Melissa and Jessica as they experience their Lenten Retreat – final days of preparation. Each of them are sharing with us a bit of their faith journey in the bulletin. Today we hear from Our Elect, Jessica, who is seeking Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist with us. “My name is Jessica Alexander and I have begun my journey, as an adult, to join the Catholic Community. My fiancé, Vincent Stelmach, comes from a practicing Catholic family. Coming from a non-practicing family myself, I never explored all that faith and religion have to offer- although thankfully I have their full support to do so. My new-found desire and curiosity of the Catholic faith, and of course plans to marry my future husband in Our Lady Queen of Peace, have led me to become a participant in the RCIA program. As I expand my knowledge and explore many questions that I have always had about faith, religion, prayer, and the Holy Trinity, I continue to flourish with the help of my RCIA catechists. I whole-heartedly welcome the Catholic faith into my life and promise to continue practicing after I experience the rituals of commitment and receive my sacraments at the Easter Vigil. With God's grace, the support of the Catholic community, and the help of my catechists, I am excited for this lifelong endeavor to embrace unconditional love, faith and spiritual guidance.”

Letter from Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli Dear Friends in Christ, This month, parishes in our Diocese will take up a collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. The collection offers a way for us to stand in solidarity with those who experienced decades of Soviet control and who continue to feel the effects of poverty, infrequent pastoral care and a lack of buildings in which the faithful can worship. This collection provides grants that focus on training seminarians and lay leaders, supporting social service programs, youth ministry, catechetical centers, schools, church construction and evangelization. Teaching the Catholic faith to generations who lived under Communist rule is vitally important. Your participation in the Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe brings hope to many and unites us with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please be as generous as possible this weekend.

Next classes scheduled:

Sunday – Tuesday – March 4th-6th
