TO RETAIL DESIGN COLLECTIVEIn the retail design industry, nothing is more synonymous with New York and the holidays than the traditional December market week. Over the years, through various names and owners, the market has always maintained an important spot on retail design calendars.

Today, A.R.E.’s Retail Design Collective continues the tradition. With its unique showroom format and exclusive collection of the world’s top visual and design resources, the show offers you a fresh focus on creative retail environments, design concepts and inspiration.

Retail Design Collective gets a head-start on educational events this year, with the debut of a new trends briefing from Material ConneXion, Pantone and Stylus. DDI and VMSD are back with two great sessions on the newest and hottest retail visual and design trends. And PAVE joins us this year for a not-to-miss session on the next wave of retail creative thinking.

Check the conference descriptions on Page 8 of this guide for more information.

Please join us also for the PAVE Gala on Wednesday evening. Whatever the realities of your business may be, there’s no better way to lift your spirits than to see future designers and their work in the spotlight. At the same time, your attendance also provides much-needed financial assistance to promising students. Of course, if you’ve attended past Galas, you also know it’s also the very best networking event of the year!

Once again this year, you will find our show headquarters at 7W New York, the retail showroom building conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan. 7W New York will host our registration, the daily conference program and about 14 participating showrooms. The building is in close proximity to Retail Design Collective’s other showrooms, and will offer such amenities as a retailer lounge with email access.

On behalf of A.R.E.’s Retail Design Collective and our sponsors, we urge you to visit all of our participating showrooms, where you will find a wide array of design presentations that will continue Retail Design Collective’s goal of bringing creativity, fashion sense and originality to the industry.

Brad Somberg, B+N Industries A.R.E. Visual Committee Chairman

Karen Schaffner Managing Director, A.R.E. Visual Committee

P.S. Mark your calendars for the 2012 Retail Design Collective, which will take place December 5-7, and the PAVE Gala, December 5.
