AUDI, BMW, CITROËN, DAEWOO, FORD, GENERAL MOTORS, NISSAN, PEUGEOT, RENAULT and VOLVO are long-standing customers of Montupet for cylinder heads and other engine parts. The Montupet Group comprises six foundries in France, UK, Spain, Mexico and Bulgaria. We use the most appropriate casting processes depending on the design and specifications of the particular product. We now wish to recruit for the following vacancy:

Electrical and Building Services Engineer EBSE/15/1 Reporting to the Facilities Manager the successful applicant will be responsible for providing electrical and building services support to all operations on site.

Key responsibilities will include: Responsibility for the maintenance and regulatory compliance of key facilities including electrical systems, heating systems,

gas, air and nitrogen plants as well as building maintenance and modifications.

Providing cost effective engineering solutions to electrical engineering problems with existing plant.

Providing back-up and support to maintenance electricians.

Project-managing the installation, commissioning and trialling of new electrical and/or energy-saving equipment and related services.

Instructing and managing outside suppliers, contractors and technical support staff while on site, ensuring that all health and safety procedures are adhered to.

It is essential that candidates have the following: Either a degree, or equivalent qualification, in Electrical Engineering plus 2 years’ electrical engineering experience from an

industrial environment OR An HND in Electrical Engineering, trained in the 17

th wiring edition and be JIB approved with 5 years industrial site

experience.

Equally important are: diagnostic and trouble-shooting experience

experience of managing electrical bias projects

experience of managing building modification or construction projects

excellent problem solving skills

up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and legislation with respect to electrical installation

Summary of job role: As a key member of the facilities management department providing electrical and

building services support to operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Technical Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the maintenance and regulatory compliance of key facilities including electrical

systems, heating systems, gas, air and nitrogen plants as well as building maintenance and

modifications.

2. Produce budgets, capital proposals, purchase requisitions and project planners with respect to all

projects being managed.

3. Produce and/or verify specifications for factory services.

4. Source equipment and labour, select appropriate suppliers with purchasing department.

5. Tackle electrical engineering problems with existing plant and with proposals and provide cost

effective engineering solutions.

6. Provide back-up and support to maintenance electricians.

7. Provide a channel of communication between shift electricians and other engineering functions.

8. Work with production teams and installation teams on projects to optimise machine performance and

prolong machine life.

9. Project-manage the installation, commissioning and trialing of new electrical and/or energy-saving

equipment and related services.

10. Instruct and manage outside suppliers, contractors and technical support staff while on site, ensuring

that all health and safety procedures are adhered to.

11. Manage major overhauls to existing equipment and services.

12. Liaise on a regular basis with Facilities Manager on project developments and problems.

13. Remain informed of the latest technology and processes on the market and keep abreast of the trends

within the automotive and energy consumption industries.

14. Liaise with Plant Engineering personnel on all relevant projects, problems etc.

15. Liaise with stores and purchasing on all relevant consumable problems. Control and manage within

budgetary constraints.
