California State University, Fullerton | University Extended Education

Programs for all stages of life—especially the next one

What letter is your career, an “I” or a “T”?

An I-shaped professional has a deep knowledge of a single subject, but is unable to apply that knowledge outside of a single discipline.

A T-shaped professional also has that deep knowledge, but can apply it across multiple disciplines. This is achieved by attaining a broad skillset outside of one’s core discipline.

That could include improved understandings of new technologies or related fields, as well as improvements in areas like critical thinking, project management or networking, among others.

It is this broad skillset—coupled with that deep knowledge—that is becoming increasingly prized among employers, and will help you move ahead in your career.

University Extended Education’s programs are designed to broaden your skillset, be it through earning a certificate, finishing a degree or completing a needed course.

General descriptions of some of our educational offerings are on the next page, but for detailed information, please find the relevant catalog section or visit our website: extension.fullerton.edu/ProfDev

We look forward to helping you turn your I into a T.
