REACH NOTE:Paul and Joanne Mittmann are longtimeCalvary members and recently found a simple yet effective way to

get to know their neighbors and begin the process of sharing Christ

with them. They hosted a neighborhood summer BBQ and invitedall 13 houses on their cul-de-sac to the event. Here is what Joanne

had to say about the event, her and Pauls prayer and hope for their

    neighborhood.

Recent research indicates 84% of OrangeCounty residents have lived at the sameaddress for over a year plus (US Census,2010). This means we have plenty ofopportunities here in Orange County tomeet our neighbors and be an exampleof Jesus Christ to them. In Matthew5:14-16, Jesus encourages us as followersof Him in this way when He says, Youare the light of the world. A city set ona hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyonelight a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives lightto all who are in the house. Let your lightshine before men in such a way that theymay see your good works, and glorifyyour Father who is in heaven.

back burner of our minds. We have livedin our house for over 34 years and seenneighbors come and go. With many wehave developed friendships that havelasted over the years. But there areothers we dont know at all. We have amission eld right on our own cul-de-

sacof 13 homes. While going throughthe Contagious Christianity book in our

LifeGroup and Encouragers class, theidea of a Jade Way BBQ jumped to thefront burner. We were further promptedby the upcoming Billy Graham MyHope for America nationwide crusadethat will be held this fall.

The premise for My Hope for Americais that instead of holding a crusade in alarge stadium, we are to invite folks intoour homes to watch the crusade on TV.These can be relatives, neighbors and

friends with whom you have a burden toshare the gospel. These home crusadeshave been very effective in othercountries. As we learned in ContagiousChristianity, we need to pray for ourneighbors and develop a relationshipwith them. The BBQ seemed like a quickway to get acquainted with the neighborswe didnt really know. One of our goalswith the BBQ is to get them from ourfront yard gathering, to our back yardwith smaller groups and then into our

house to watch My Hope for Americain November.

To get the neighborhood BBQ off the

ground, we rst enlisted the help of two

other neighbors we know well and arevery friendly and outgoing. They agreedto be co-hosts with us and help talk itup as they bumped into people on thestreet. We printed simple iers inviting

them to the event and hand deliveredthem to each house. If they were home,we had a chance to visit. Otherwisewe left it in their mailbox. We had an

RSVP sheet that they could return toour mailbox with their address, namesand who would be attending as we didnteven know the full names of some ofthese people! We had decided to notadvertise it as a potluck but if they askedto bring something, then that was great. It does take some work and expense. Wehad to borrow tables, chairs, tableclothsand umbrellas from our family. I madelots of salads and desserts and barbecuedthe meat a little ahead of time. We had

made up name tags for everyone andhad a clipboard for them to write theirphone, email, etc., for a neighborhoodaddress sheet. We held it on our frontlawn so everyone could see what washappening and not feel shy aboutattending.

The event went better than expected. Many neighbors brought food thatwe didnt plan on, so there was anabundance of goodies. We had

representation from every house exceptone because they were out of town. Weasked each person to share a minuteor two about themselves. Many werehappy to share much longer! We found

out some really interesting things - oneneighbor who we thought was in her80s is 96 and still drives! Another is anational ping pong champion for his agegroup. Unfortunately we also learnedsome couples were living togetherwithout marriage and others werepracticing Buddhism.

We have already seen that manyneighbors are much friendlier now -hanging out their car windows to yella greeting instead of looking the otherway as they go by. Concerns are beingshared with us more frequently. We canbuild upon the relationships with theinformation we have learned. We are soglad we did this and all the neighborswere very appreciative and want to do itagain! Lastly, the most important thing isto pray by name for each neighbor long

before the event and after it is over.

The Bible is a story, why is a sermon a list?Lets reclaim the story quality of the Bible.

    Roughly 5.7 billion people-over 80 percent of

the world's population-live primarily by oralitybecause they are non-readers, estimates Grant

Lovejoy, Director of Oral Strategies for IMB.

Jesus used parables to explain truth, and in

the same way modern-day Christians should

"speak the word to them as they [are] able to

hear it" (Mark 4:33), says Lovejoy.

"Let's reclaim the story quality of the Bible. Stories have an appeal to people

who would never listen to a sermon. People across the world speak nearly 7,000

languages, but only 450 have a complete Bible. The only way the others are going to

hear the Gospel is through spoken communication within the context of their oralcultures notes Lovejoy. He warned against an insistence on sermonizing, saying,

"We're like King Saul, who said, 'Wear my armor' to David. David used what God

gave him, and that was more than enough in the hand of God."

In Bible storying, care is taken "to build an ethos to protect God's Word," using

principles and techniques "that help a storying group preserve biblical accuracy as

they retell the story, with the Bible serving as the nal authority."

Join us on Sunday morning for the unique opportunity to hear from Dr. Grant

Lovejoy, as we continue to ask, Can YOU Tell the Story?

Grant Lovejoy serves as the Director of Orality Strategies for the International Mission Board ofthe Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He taught at Southwestern as Associate Professor

of Preaching for a number of years and continues to teach adjunctly on the topic of Chronological

Bible Storying at numerous Baptist seminaries around the world. Since 1988, Dr. Lovejoy has

served a dozen congregations as their interim pastor. He is also co-editor and contributing author of

Have you ever considered serving overseas for a lifetime?

People can be emotionally moved by a dynamic speaker. But an

emotional feeling will only sustain someone on the eld for ashort time. A true calling by God on their life is what is necessary

to keep a missionary on the eld. Following Gods call to

become a missionary is a great way to serve the Lord. However,

there is more involved than just declaring that the person wants

to be a missionary. Each mission eld, mission agency and

mission work will have its own special requirements. A person

interested in mission work needs to take time to prepare properly

for serving the Lord long-term. Calvary Church wants to help

lead and direct your focus and has prepared a special program

    designed to make that happen.

Future Missionary Focus is for our people who are interested in

pursuing global missionary service in their future. With goals and

guidelines designed to help you nd Gods plan for your life, a

self-paced program has been written allowing you to complete

the course over a period of time from as little as six months

to three years. Working with a mentor on a monthly basis, you

will design your program to work with your schedule and set up

individual time frames as you seek Gods calling.

Future Missionary Focus is a required candidate program for

those considering serving as Calvary Church missionaries. If youare interested in this opportunity, contact the REACH Global

Missions Director, Liz Gold at 714.550.2340 for an appointment

to begin the process. Once an application and commitment form

are completed and returned, then a mentor is assigned who will

work with the participant throughout their candidate process.

Our goal is to help you become a fully prepared Christian and,

if God leads through the process, a future missionary of Calvary

    Church.

We would appreciate your prayers for the following people who

are currently involved in the candidate program through theFuture Missionary Focus: David and Amy Smith; Marc Munzing; Jon

    Davidson; Jeremy Hebits; Sabrina Chao; Kari Watrous; Wesley Jackson;

Yesenia Valenquez; David Geis; Steve Coombs; Jamilyn Cummings and

This summer, Calvary sent a team of 15

    college students to Kandern, Germany,

led by Michael Welles and John Woods,

(both of whom were part of the 2008

    Germany team).

The team completed a number of

    construction projects to make the

    headquarters building for Greater

    Europe Mission more functional. This

    both benefited the organization and

    allowed Calvary missionary, Chris

Tweedy, to spend more time using his

gifts in finance to lead the organization,

    instead of spending his summer

    working on construction projects.

The Germany team also led a Vacation

Bible School for the local German

elementary school children as well as

some of the missionary kids. They were

able to publicize it in the local paper,

as well as go to local schools and invitethe children in person. It was the first

time, since opening up a few years ago,

that local children were invited to have

    activities at the headquarters building.

    Calvary missionary Susan Tweedy

was very encouraged by the program.

She said, VBS was great for German

kids to hear about Jesus. German

One of the most meaningful aspects of the trip, wasthe chance to meet many different missionaries from avariety of Kandern based organizations (Greater EuropeMission, Wycliffe, Campus Crusade, Young Life, andothers), and understand their heart to reach Europefor Christ. The college students were able to see all ofthe ways the missionaries they met used their gifts infinance, art, baseball, language translation, technology, media, education, and nursing to further Gods kingdom.

This was so encouraging to the students; it was easy tosee how any of the gifts our team had could be used in

This summer our high school ministry took a group ofnineteen people, fifteen high school students and fourleaders, to La Montaa Christian Camps in Costa Rica,Central America. The camps vision and goal as a wholeis to work with teenagers 12-19 years old and introduceChrist to those who do not know Him yet, to foster thegrowth of those who already have a relationship with Him,and to send them back home with a faith they can share

with others. The camp is similar to the set up at HumeLake, where it has many recreational activities during theday, accompanied by morning and evening chapels. As ourteam went to this camp we came with an openness to dowhatever was needed by the camp in order to supportthem. During the week our students would break intowork teams that were spread out over the camp to dovarious projects such as shoveling manure, cleaning outthe camp cabins and bathrooms, cleaning the chapel, working in the kitchen, and painting a storage containerour church provided for this camp. We would alsopractice our Spanish skills by engaging in conversations

and recreational activities with the campers and staff.

My favorite part of this trip was to watch our students humsubmit themselves to hard manual labor and to see thexperience camp life behind the scenes, instead of coming a camper. I think they learned an appreciation for all that is ptogether to run a camp and now have a different perspectwhen they attend camp themselves. Some of our students weinspired by this trip and are now contemplating future workmissions and local outreach. Other students really put themselv

out of their comfort zones just by coming on this trip where thwere challenged to engage with peers of a different language acultural background. Overall, instead of sending our team overthis camp to teach and be upfront vocally (which is what I am usto doing on mission trips), I feel as though God used us as humservants to communicate to these campers that as Americans are not above reproach, but more so we are identified with Chrand follow in His example to humble ourselves and put othbefore us.

During the time in Lushnje, Albania our

20 person team from Calvary partneredwith Pastor Berti Dosti and the Wayof Peace Church, and celebrated 20 years ofthriving ministry to the people of Albania. (The church alsooperates Victory School, which teaches students English andcomputer skills.) God truly blessed our group and our tripin amazing ways. Some of the highlights include a successfulVacation Bible School that served over 50 children, a weekof English and Computer classes at Victory School wherewe got to know our students through helping them practiceconversational English, special evening programs at the Wayof Peace Church and a visit to the Village of Bitaj.

In addition to all of this, one of the primary reasons for ourvisit was to support and celebrate the Way of Peace Churchas they commemorate 20 years of ministry to the peopleof Albania. We attended a special foreigners service aswell as a Sunday service meant to be a celebration for Wayof Peace Church members. Each service was a wonderfultime of worship and reflection for all of the various Christiangroups and individuals that have partnered with the Way ofPeace Church. After Pastor Berti said a few words, theyplayed a video showcasing the churchs relationship witheach group. This was especially enjoyable for the returning

members on our team, as we were able to reminisce aboutpast trips and experiences. On our team the hard workand dedication of Chuck and Judy Ball as well as DonnaRosales was acknowledged, and Pastor Berti thankedLiz and Roger Gold and Pastor Dave and Joy Mitchell forCalvarys continued partnership with the Way of PeaceChurch. Spending time in Albania brought us all much joyand encouragement as we witnessed God working throughbelievers sharing His love to the people of Lushnje and thesurrounding region.

    Philippines

Born out of a Calvary LifeGroup, the Reach team to the Philippineswas challenged to serve in a cultural context outside of our ownFour families, including 13 children, made the 36 hour journey to theisland of Boracay in order to serve alongside Calvary missionariesDan and Tori Beaver and Rolando and Theresa Ateinza. Our missionwas simple: bring the message and ministry of the Gospel to thepoor Filipinos and indigenous tribal people on Boracay and Panayislands.

One million tourists visit the small island of Boracy each year, andfollowing them thousands of Filipinos seeking work and a way outof poverty.

Behind the ret, soetime liteally in theshadw, lie the makehift dwelling typical f

    Manila and the develping citie.

In the mornings our team went to Boracay Agape Academy to helpwith a construction project and tutor students in English. Receivinga good education is the second key to breaking the cycle of povertyfor each of these children and their families. While they are learningto read and write, they are also learning about and experiencing thefirst key the transformative power of the Gospel. In the afternoonswe ventured out into the poor communities to bring a meal, basicmedical attention, and a Bible story and message to kids who needto know about and see the love of Jesus through His people.

One of the children on our team led a young Filipino child inprayer to accept Jesus as her Savior. Another of the children onour team professed interest in becoming a missionary becauseof his experience. All of the adults on our team saw the reality ofcross-cultural ministry, returning to Orange County with a vivid

understanding of both the challenges and rewards and a desire topray for and support our missionaries. We saw the impact that theFilipinos and missionaries were having in the community.

Every person reached for Christ on the island of Boracay becomes alight to the world, and not just in the Philippines. With over 2 millionFilipinos traveling around the world, many of them take that lightwith them. Pray with us for the Filipino people and the ministry ofour missionaries that is ongoing, and most of all, that Gods Name

    would be proclaimed and glorified!

The experience that KidWorks has at Calvary Church VBSevery year is incredible, but this year was astounding. From the very beginning Matt Doan, who was the contact

person from Calvary, was very attentive to Kidworksneeds. Emailing back and forth daily and accommodatingdates and times was what it took to make the trip a reality. As the summer progressed at Kidworks, the number ofstudents enrolled increased and with that so did the worrythat it might be too many kids to transport to Calvary. Godwas in control. Once notified of this blessing, Calvary waswilling to rent an eighty-four passenger school bus so thatKidworks would have the opportunity to attend VBS. Thestaff was blown away by Calvarys desire to do whatever ittook for Kidworks to be a part of VBS.

Finally the day that we had been waiting for had come. Thekids were extremely excited because this was the highlightof their summer, every summer. For some it was the firsttime at VBS, and for others it was the excitement of goingback to the place where they could discover God in awhole new way. Once we arrived chaos was expected, butwe encountered just the opposite. All our kids had beenregistered, had their name tag, were able to be seated inan easy fashion and were ready to begin their adventure.

    KidWorks + Kingdom Rock

At this point the staff wondered how it was going to bepossible to manage all the kids as they were spread out athe time. Once again Calvary had it covered; along withour name tags we were given a roster of where our kidwould be at what time and with whom. It was truly mindblowing to witness the way that Calvary received us thisyear. With great joy and love they extended their armsto Kidworks and fulfilled the commandment that Jesuleft to us saying, Love your neighbor as yourself (Mar12:31). Kidworks will forever be grateful to all the Calvarystaff that went above and beyond to welcome Kidworkand make it the greatest experience of the summer. God

I have a visionof several teams being formed sowe could increase our outreach toother retirement homes in Orange

Five QuestionsFor 2 of our Reach Local Leades

County. I lead worship on my guitar and onoccasion play my saw with a violin bow forthe residents. Through a short devotionaland prayer and then quality one on onevisitation, our group has encouraged theresidents and staff of the home.

Q4: What have been some of the joys of serving inthe Reach: Retirement Home Ministry? This is not the most attractive of ministries. There are areas of sadness that we witness. The residents are for the most part going tobe conned to a hospital setting for the rest

of their lives. I suppose that a highlight isknowing we are fullling a commandment

of the Bible from James 1:27. Pure and

undeled religion before God and the Father isthis: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble,

and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. We have brought those we serve to be ableto experience the joys of Gods word andfellowship and worship, that many of ustake for granted.

Our ministry team has had the awarenesthat we are in some ways serving the LorHimself as we serve others. That is a joy.

Q5: How can people from Calvary get involvewith our Reach: Retirement Home Ministry?

Anyone can participate. Young families witchildren are ministering as families. Thold folks love the little kids. The Lordcommandments are not burdensome, sserve to the extent that you feel called toI am also willing to train those who woullike to prepare a short message and servin a teaching capacity. The more servantwe have, the more effective we will be areaching more people. Please call me a

Marlene EckertCALVARY CHURCH MEMBER & ANGEL TREE COORDINATOR

Q1:How did you arrive at Calvary (How did you hear aboutthe Church, who invited you etc.) and how long have you been

    attending Calvary?

My daughter was going into her senior year of highschool, and her best friend was attending Calvary at thetime and suggested we try it. That was August 1995.I've been at Calvary ever since!

Q2: Youve been involved in a lot of ministries here at Calvary

over the years. Can you tell us about them, and what your

motivation for being involved in them is?

Besides being the Angel Tree coordinator, I also serveas one of the 1st grade leaders for VBS and serveon the Nursery with 12-18 month toddlers. In thepast I have been a wedding ceremony coordinator,VBS photographer, preschool/K Sunday Schoolsub, KidWorks after-school tutor and served inCare ministries. I occasionally help with other Reachactivities such as the Easter Egg hunt. I want to loveothers the way Jesus asks us, and focus on others ratherthan my own selsh desires.

Q3: How did you get involved with Angel Tree?

Matt Doan asked me to be a part of it. In September2008, about half dozen of us attended a regionalmeeting and Karin Arango, an Angel Tree directorfrom Prison Fellowship, lit a re under us!

Q4: For those who dont know, what is Angel Tree all about?

The mission of Angel Tree is to reconcile inmates withtheir children. Inmates apply to have Christmas giftsgiven to their kids, and God uses people like you and Ito be His hands and feet to give gifts on behalf of theinmate parents to the children, as a reminder of theirparents love for them. What I enjoy most about AngelTree is seeing it all come together and the smiles on the

    childrens faces!

Q5: How can others get involved in Ange Tree this Christmas

    season?

We have opportunities for people to make phonecalls to reach out to the families, plan and run theChristmas party, wrap and deliver gifts, as well as manthe lobby tables and assist administratively. And ofcourse, whether you volunteer or not, you can pick upan Angel tag and purchase one or more gifts. Pleasecontact Marlene Eckert at [email protected] formore information.

Sheepfold Article From August 2013 Newsletter:

Two years ago to the date, I moved into The Sheepfold. Tonight

I signed paperwork for my very rst and very own apartment,

after recently "graduating" from Second Step. It's amazing tosee how far I have come from when I rst moved into the

Sheepfold-depressed and lost. How was Sheepfold going to helpme nd my way?

Since then I have accomplished more in these two years than Idid in all the previous years since I had my son Preston.

Igt my dive's licene back, a jb, a caand mt f all the "peace in my heat"I had been lking f my entie life.

I am growing in knowledge of the Bible, Jesus, and the grace andlove of God. In 2012, I was baptized. My son watched and yelledto make sure I held my nose. Because of the House Managers, volunteers and all those people who donate to this ministry, Iwas able to get a new start.

I came from wanting to leave Sheepfold in the beginning to not

wanting to leave now that it is time. I give thanks, rst of all,to the Lord my mighty God for never leaving my side, for theHouse Managers for loving me and going above and beyond inreaching out to me so I can be where I am, and for the familywho donated the car I received. I love my car and think of youas I take Preston to daycare, go to the grocery store or drive towork.

Thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who take time outof their schedules to be with us and our kids, and who providewonderful holidays in the shelter. (Christmas is amazing!) Tothose people I want to say that without all of you, my life would

have remained in a dark world and my son would be in fostercare. Through the love of God you made my future possible.

2013 has been a special year at Calvary for our Worship/

Creative Arts Ministry. During Calvarys Art Weekend in

April, we commemorated the 30th anniversary of the passing

of Corrie ten Boom (author of The Hiding Place) with a fully

staged production, TEN BOOM - The Musical. The response

to this original musical, written by Calvarys own Ron Rogalsk

and Kris Bromberger, was overwhelming, as over 2,000

people experienced the dramatic true story of courage and

faith in the middle of WWII Nazi oppression. Due to boththis positive response, and a passionate cast/crew, Calvary

Church is proud to bring the musical back this November.

This encore presentation of TEN BOOM is edited and

revised to be shorter, while keeping all of the impact of

the original production. Our desire is that those who loved

the musical when they first viewed it in April would use

this opportunity to reach out locally and invite friends and

neighbors to view it the second time around. A musical theater

production like this has something that almost everyone can

enjoy: dramatic acting, costumes, live music, dance, visualssets, and more. People who might never come to a Sunday

church service are open to visit for a theatrical production

God can use this musical, based on the story, The Hiding

Place, to touch a persons heart with the Gospel. Invite you

friends and help reach our community for Christ.

    50 YEARS

After serving 33 years overseas as a medical

missionary for the Association of Baptistsfor World Evangelism (ABWE), Dr. Olsenis a legend in Bangladesh and in missionarycircles around the world. The New YorkTimes even compared him to Dr. DavidLivingstone, the great 19th century medicalmissionary and African explorer. But all ofDr. Olsens accomplishments may fade incomparison to the work he is doing now.He and his wife, Joan, a distinguishedmissionary in her own right, are translatingthe New Testament into Muslim-friendly

English. According to a news releasefrom Steve Yount at A. Larry RossCommunications, at 85, their health doesntalways permit them to work the long hoursthat they once did. But, after several stopsand starts, they have nished the rst draft

of the translation, are working on thesecond draft and plan to nish the project

    this year.

    FAITHFULLY SERVING THE LORD

    IN GLOBAL MISSIONS

Dr. Viggo (Vic) Olsen and his wife, Joanwere surgeons serving in the USA, whenGod invaded their lives and wouldnt letgo. Once they had found the Savior theyhad no choice but to follow where He ledthem to East Pakistan where the peoplethere without the Gospel and without ahospital. They arrived in 1962 after severalmonths of studies of tropical medicines inEngland. By the time they left the country

would have a new name Bangladesh anda new hospital, The Memorial ChristianHospital in Malumghat. At 85 years old, thenow legendary Daktar (as the Bangladeshipeople called him), continues to serve thepeople of Bangladesh, as they work on atranslation of the New Testament.

While serving as a surgeon at Memorial ChristianHospital in Malumghat, Bangladesh, which heand his medical team founded in 1966, Dr. Olsentook time to work on the translation. Sometimeswe would work until 2 or 3 am, Dr. Olsen said.

Theres no reason that the translation should haveturned out so well on the basis of our background, yet somehow it was God who knew the principlewas right and gave us the help we needed. Currentlytheir MC Hospital is being rebuilt to accommodate100 hospital beds for impoverished Bengalis seekingmedical help, and receiving Gods message as well.

Dr. Vic Olsen has written three inspirational books, most notably Daktar: Diplomat in Bangladesh. Published in 1973, twoyears after Bangladeshs war of independence, this No. 1 best-selling book concludes with the new governments decision to

grant him Visa No. 001 in honor of his service. Today, the Olsens live in Southern California. Despite being slowed by recentsurgeries, their enthusiasm for their work has not diminished with age. They continue the production of the Muslim EnglishNew Testament, the Holy Injil.

Millions of people all over the world speak and read English, Dr. Olsen said. There are more than 3,000 Muslim peoplegroups, with many English speakers in them, so this Muslim-friendly New Testament were working on has the possibility ofblessing every Muslim group in the world. That may sound like an impossible dream, but God makes the impossible possible.

Dr. Vic and Joan Olsen have served with ABWE, a Christian organization that works in more than 70 countries, for more than50 years. They are retired missionaries with Calvary Church and available to speak in LifeGroups. Contact the REACH GlobalMissions ofce for more information. (This article was written in part by Dan Wooding and used by permission of Dr. Viggo Olsen.)

The need for special translations for Muslimsbecame apparent after the Olsens began serving inBangladesh, then known as East Pakistan, in 1962,said the release. When they arrived, they found thatthe only Bible in the Bengali language available toMuslims dated to missionary William Careys time inthe late 18th and early 19th centuries. Culturally, thatBible was better suited for Buddhists and Hindus.

    For example, the Bible used

a Hindu word, Ishwar, for God; Ishwar is one of

    thousands of Hindu gods.

    To many Muslims, that is

    blasphemy and shocking,

said Vic Olsen. The Olsens created a pocketdictionary of 4,600 BengaliMuslim words, and then spent10 years leading a team thatcreated a New Testament forBengali Muslims. Published in1980, it became the No. 1 best-selling book in Bangladesh. Wetried to get others to do it, butthey had their own projects, Dr.Olsen said. It seemed to us thatthis was the key to our work, sosomehow it had to be done.

The translation team eventually produced acomplete Muslim Bengali Bible, with the help

of colleagues such as Dr. Lynn Silvernale, DrWilliam Barrick and Rev. George King. Sincethen, the Olsens have become renowned fortheir translations for Muslims, and Dr. Olsen

has trained other translators to lead similarprojects with the concept of culturally sensitivetranslations becoming increasingly popular

Biblica, formerly called International BibleSociety, already has released the Olsens Muslim-friendly English translation of the Book ofMatthew. The cover is green with gold lettering

Green has been associated with Islam sincethe days of the Muslim prophet MuhammadThe title is The Holy Injil using the Arabicword for good news with the subtitle Firs

Book: Matthew. The book uses certain Arabicwords, such as Isa for Jesus and Ibrahimfor Abraham, that have special signicance for

Muslims, no matter what their native tongue isSmall adjustments like that change the tonecompletely, Dr. Olsen said.

    That may

    sund like an

    impible deam,but Gd make

    the impible
