DESCRIPTION
When you think of the typical Web 2.0 user, you probably envision a Millennial or Generation X, right? You may be surprised to learn that Boomers are the fastest growing group at social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, with the average age on LinkedIn being 40 years old. I use the term "Generation C" describe all people who engage one another on the Internet with a 2.0 mindset: creative, collaborative and community-oriented. I also give several ideas for bridging the generation gap in our workplaces and classrooms through social media. As for “Younger Boomers” and “Older Boomers,” enough research has been done to suggest that the two decades of Baby Boomers are different enough to merit being divided into distinct generational groups.
