REACTION PAPER(To the ends of the Earth)

The documentary shows the life on the North and South Pole. Different species of animals are living in the Polar Regions. It shows how they survive each season. How they hunt their prey, survive against their predators and mating during the season. Mating and breeding is very intense and demanding for many species, such as polar bears. Male polar bears guard their female mate throughout the mating season; making sure that no other male polar bear will come near to her. Living in this kind of place, needs strength. It is the survival of the fittest. The wolves and bisons is an example. The wolves work together to have the bisons. The unending struggle for survival is particularly merciless. There are also things that can only be seen in this place. The snowflakes that are made here are breathtaking. No two snowflakes have exactly the same shape. In the forest, which is called taiga, also have species that live there. 1/3 of the trees on the Earth is found on taiga. Meanwhile in Antarctica, the continent that is completely surrounded by water, happens the same thing but with different species of animals. 40 million penguins go to the ocean every summer to feed. Fishing can be dangerous for them because of the sea lions. Also the same problem goes to the seals. Humpback whales work together to get a seal. They swim in synchronize to affect the ice where the seal is lying. Once the seal dropped on the ice, they will attack it. Underwater, there are a lot of species of fish and corals that can only be seen on South Pole. Very little changes happened underwater in the span of millions of years. Mt. Erebus, the most active volcano on South Pole is temperamental. There are also caves found on the South Pole. Beautiful ice crystals unlike any other in the world were found.Travelling further, they found the dry valleys of the Antarctica. This is 1% of Antarctica that is not covered in ice. Having 200 miles/hour wind in this place makes extraordinary things. There are rock formations resulting from the current of the wind. Meanwhile, the Antarctic ice cap covers about 70% of the Earths water. When it freezes, it is a vast ice that stretches thousands of miles. What happens in South and North Pole affects every one of us no matter where we live on this planet.
