  • Maths Lesson

    Describing location on simple maps

  • Science Lesson

Science Week 3: Life cycle of animals

  • Week 3 Activity Cut out the images of the butterfly life cycle and glue them in

order. Remember to place them in a circle to show the cycle of

life. (These images may be redrawn in your books if you do not have paper copy)

Draw arrows from each stage to show how the butterfly moves through stages.

Match the descriptions of the key stages to the illustrations you have ordered.

Then, the caterpillar eats and grows bigger.

First, a butterfly lays tiny eggs on a plant.

Next, a caterpillar hatches from an egg.

The adult butterfly emerges from the chrysalis (cocoon).

When the caterpillar is big enough, it attached itself to a plant and turns

    into a pupa.

The butterfly is a flying insect that grows in stages.
