• Even though the price of groceries has sky-rocketed and people all around the world are dying from starvation each day, Americans still throw away 30 million tons of food each year. After reading articles, book excerpts, watching video clips and viewing a photo essay on food, write a narrative account from the point of view of someone outside the United States that shows what you’ve learned about this global problem.

Their project, “Hungry Planet,” depicts everything that an average family consumes in a given week–and what it costs — laid out in thought-provoking detail.
