    Jem Tyler had a really bad day last Thursday. It was theday of his last summer exam and he was slightly worriedas he wasnt very well prepared. Because of this he set hisalarm to wake him up at five in the morning so that hecould do some revision before the exam which started at9.30.

    The alarm woke him up and he sat up very quickly,turned over and fell out of bed. He hurt his head on thetable. It was still dark and he went to the bathroom butbanged his toe on the door in the darkness. He shouted soloudly that he woke up his younger sister in the nextroom. She was angry and threw a glass of water over him.Then he realised that hed made a mistake with the alarmclock and it wasnt 5 oclock but 4 oclock. He went tostudy at his table in the bedroom but the light wasntworking so he went downstairs. He read his books for fiveminutes in the kitchen but he was so tired he went tosleep at the kitchen table and didnt wake up until hismother came to make breakfast for the family. It was toonoisy to work then. He couldnt get into the bathroombecause of his sisters and he missed the bus to school. Hearrived half an hour late for the exam and they refused toallow him to take it. What a disaster!

    A taste of PeachesWhat an incredible experience! Last night I had thepleasure of going to the opening of the newPeaches restaurant in High Street, Oakton and,together with celebrities, reviewers and people fromthe media, I ate my way through a six course mealwith aperitifs, wines and liqueurs. From themouthwatering soup and pats to the deliciouscheeses and desserts, it was a food festival ofabsolute excellence and my congratulations go to thechef and owner Paddy Taggart. He has created asense spectacular in Peaches. There is thesuperb food for our tongues, delicate scents in theair, gentle spiritual music to accompany the meal andall in a room so beautifully designed that it was likesitting in an impressionist painting! I would adviseanyone who is looking for delicious food in stunningsurroundings to book a table at Peaches anyonewho has a lot of money and a lot of time. You cannoteat here if you are in a hurry!
