Methods of creative writing

Page 34: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

Our world loves stories. Do you like stories?

Page 35: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

Catch the story going around in your head!

Page 36: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

Concentrate hard until you find the story

Page 37: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

Who found a story?

Page 38: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

Let’s discuss our stories in groups

Page 39: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

Oh, that is a funny story!

Page 40: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

That’s a very good idea!

Page 41: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

Now it is time to put your thoughts on to the computer.

Don’t worry about spelling and grammar – just write!

Page 42: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

The words are done, the story is in

paragraphs mand Ihave checked the

spelling. My friend helped me. The pages

are in order. Now it’s time to illustrate my

story.

Page 43: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

How do you

do this

‘print

screen’

thing

again?

We use ‘print screen’ to get the pictures and

words into PowerPoint.

Fish Hoek Primary created a

reading scheme of 80 books from

Grade 1 – Grade 7 for Steenberg

Primary School

Page 46: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

We created stories in Storymaker 2

or Storybook Weaver and put them

into PowerPoint. We then printed

them as A4 booklets.

The Grade 5 bookbinding team at work

Page 48: Reading Writing and Web 2.0 make a great team

One class was selected to deliver them

and read some of the stories to each

grade in their school hall.
