Starting in Paris with its connotations of love and romance, frou-frou and orna-mental exuberance we are travelling to Copenhagen as a center for scandina-vian style. Looking for pure and simple designs with a strong reference to the 50ies and 60ies of the 20th century it shows its tendency to stylized 2-dimensi-onals. Via Istanbul and its overwhelming richesse of islamic ornamentals and Odessa standing for its rich connections to eastern european ethnics and to joyful folk painting our journey leads to Shanghai with its dynamic energy and modernism which reflects todays effervescent mixture of chinese traditionals and western pop-culture.

Next stop is Tokyo: it symbolizes the utmost of modernity, edgy and very special designs, looking very tomorrow. Crossing the Pacific with a stay-over in Honolulu to relax and indulge ourselves in the hawaian djungle and polynesian pop of the 50ies we come to Los Angeles which stands for optimistic flower power and tells of pop-art and psychedelic experiments. Finally we arrive in Timbuktu to find our roots in the genuine power and symbolic abstractions of african designs.
