Ireland’s largest private military collection housed in a purposed built 5000sq ft “hands on” museum. See what it’s like to sit in WW1 and WW2 trenches and vehicles, handle weapons and equipment that were actual-ly used in the wars (all of which are fully decommissioned and perfectly safe), get a real sense of what it was like to be a soldier in war. Experience the thrill of a tank ride or why not book the day for you and your friends to experience our airsoft site which covers 12 acres. Niall or Fechin will begin your tour at Maggie Heaney’s Cottage which dates back to the 1700’s. Smell the turf fire, see the old spinning wheel and hear about Maggie’s famous visitor. Then begin the short hill walk to Loughcrew’s Ancient Passage Tombs. These 5,000 year old tombs are located at the highest point in the Boyne Valley – The Hill of the Witch. You will focus on Cairn T with some of Europe’s most spectacular ancient carvings. Hear the myths and legends that have kept these ancient pas-sage tombs so well preserved. Approx 1hr 15mins.
