Kathy Jones and Associates (KJA)
Established in 2001, KJA is one of Australia’s leading specialist stakeholder
engagement and communication consultancies, with more than 75 staff across
offices in NSW and Victoria. We are known for our exceptional insight and ability
to design, plan and deliver projects. In 2018 KJA became part of the ERM
Group, a leading global consultancy providing a national and international
footprint for KJA services. We work in partnership with industry and government
to deliver innovative and tailored stakeholder engagement for some of Australia’s
highest profile projects.
We balance the strategic and risk management needs of each project with the
day-to-day activities that communities have come to expect. From pre-planning
to project delivery, we specialise in delivering end-to-end strategic
communication and stakeholder engagement. We do not have a ‘one-size-fits-
all’ approach. We work with communities all over Australia and know that what
works in the city does not always work regionally, or in neighbouring suburbs.
We seek out those who are hard to reach and are skilled at working with people
from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
From bespoke strategies and plans to the design and production of engaging
reports and collateral, we take complex data and make it accessible. Our in-
house Design Studio translates technical detail into accessible information,
creating new and interesting ways to engage stakeholders. In the delivery phase
we deliver the tactical components including door knocking, works notifications,
information sessions, phone lines and email enquiries.
As experts in stakeholder engagement, our consultants are trained in best
practice methodologies including the International Association for Public
Participation (IAP2). We manage and facilitate forums, workshops and events,
encouraging participation by designing a collaborative approach to discussions
and providing an environment that generates ideas.
We appreciate the complex nature of strategic planning and service delivery and
that concepts presented to stakeholders to consider are not always highly
defined or well-understood. This often requires a carefully considered approach
to engagement, sometimes with multiple stages or creative techniques to
present and explain concepts. We are user-centric in our approach to
engagement and prototype and test engagement approaches through our in-
house Innovation Hub. We partner with our clients to minimise project risk and
maximise the benefit of strong stakeholder relationships.

about CEDA
CEDA is a respected independent national organisation with an engaged cross-
sector membership. More than 750 of Australia’s leading businesses, organisations
and academic institutions from around the country are members of CEDA. For more
than 50 years, CEDA has delivered informed discourse and rigorous research to
influence good public policy for Australia’s economic and social development.
Membership
Organisations join CEDA because CEDA delivers exposure to high level thought
leadership, timely briefings on issues of economic importance, access to
networking and brand reach through sponsorship and hosting opportunities. In
addition to high profile public events, CEDA also delivers regular member only
events for employees of member organisations and exclusive Trustee only
boardroom briefings for senior executives from member organisations. These
provide a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and for
speakers and attendees to talk candidly on issues.
Research and policy
CEDA’s only agenda is to pursue good public policy to progress Australia’s
economic and social development. Since 1960 CEDA has produced more than
3000 publications, research reports and articles highlighting emerging issues and
directions in a diverse range of policy areas. Research in 2019 will focus on
Australia’s long-term budget position, the effects of temporary migration, a survey
of Australian businesses on their approach to economic development, and new
approaches to addressing entrenched disadvantage.
