The City o Madera will truly benet rom this

investment, by achieving a lower cost o electricity or

Maderas City engineer who oversaw the project.

The system is ex pected to produce and estimated o

energy o over 5 million kWh over twenty years. That is

enough energy to power more than , average U.S.

homes or one year. The environmental assets

associated with the system will ofset an estimated 7

over twenty years, the eq uivalent

o removing an estimated ,6 cars of the road or

one year.

reC Modules were selected to power one o Caliornias largest

waste water treatment acilities. 5 REC modules were t onto each

o the 9 Meca dual-axis trackers at the site. The project was

developed jointly by REC Solar Inc, and SunEdison. The REC Peak

Energy Modules are perectly suited to maximize the power output

at this treatment plant, and on the dual-axis trackers the pa nels are

able to achieve their peak perormance during the daylight hours byollowing the suns path across the sky.

Under a strategic power purchase agreement (PPA) between

SunEdison and the City o Madera, SunEdison will nance, operate

and maintain the solar power plant, and the city will purchase the

energy produced to ofset demand rom the grid at predictable

energy rates or years.
