Initial Ideas and Feedback

name

Idea 1 – Devils food cake• Theme: Valentines Day.• Colour scheme: Brown and pink to tie in with the colours of the foods and

also represent love and valentines day.• Fonts: - Title font - Normal text font• Audience: couples spending valentines day together or adult/teen males

trying to impress their partners.

Feedback 1What do you like about the idea?It is good because although it is a common recipe, the fact that the cake is in the shape of a heart gives it an edge and a bit of a twist, and also fits the theme “Valentines Day”.What areas of the idea could be developed?

What do you find interesting about the idea?I find the most interesting about this idea is that the cake is in the shape of a heart, fitting to Valentines day and also how the font she has chosen has hearts in it which also links to Valentines Day and the theme.

Idea 2 – Cookies• Theme: Valentines Day.• Colour scheme: Red, white and pink.• Fonts: - text fonts - Title font• Audience: couples spending valentines day together or young children

baking cookies.• Print finishing – Varnish.

Feedback 2What do you like about the idea?I like this idea because the cookies are in the shape of hearts, matching the theme and also that you are able to add little messages onto the cookies using icing sugar. You can also decorate the cookies however you want, making the finished product more personal to you. What areas of the idea could be developed? She could of added more detail in some areas of this idea. What do you find interesting about the idea?I find the fact that she has chosen to use varnish on this recipe card interesting because this will make certain parts of the card stand out, like the pictures or the text.

Idea 3 - Pizza• Theme: Valentines day.• Colour scheme: Red and white• Fonts: - Title font. - Main text font.• Audience: Male cooking for his partner or someone cooking a family meal

on valentines day to make everyone feel loved.

Feedback 3What do you like about the idea?I like that all of her ideas are consistent in the way that all of her recipes are shaped in the form of hearts which fit in with the theme of her cards.

What areas of the idea could be developed?

What do you find interesting about the idea?I find interesting about the idea, the fact that the pizza is in the shape of a heart. This means the pizza will have to be specifically cut or shaped to achieve this.

Idea 4 – Vegetarian spaghetti bolognaise

• Theme: Valentines Day.• Colour scheme: Red and green.• Fonts: - Title font. - Main text font.• Audience: Vegetarian families or couples.

Feedback 4What do you like about the idea?I like that although it is spaghetti bolognaise, it uses mince to replace the meat and this is a very stereotypical meal to have on Valentines Day.

What areas of the idea could be developed? She could maybe add a small amount of detail in all areas of this idea, apart from the pictures. The pictures are okay.

What do you find interesting about the idea?I find this idea interesting because it is not like her other ideas, as this recipe is not a dessert, nor is it in the shape of a heart.

Idea 5 - Pancakes• Theme: Valentines Day.• Colour scheme: Red, blue and cream.• Fonts: - Normal Text font. - Title font.• Audience: Males making breakfast in bed for their partners on valentines day

morning or the day after valentines day if they spent the night together.

Feedback 5What do you like about the idea?I like how the simple idea of pancakes has been slightly changed to give it a Valentines Day feel and also how the pancakes are in the shapes of hearts and can have chocolate and/or fruits in them. What areas of the idea could be developed? The colour scheme could be developed by talking about why she has chosen these colours for this idea. What do you find interesting about the idea?I find it interesting because she has chosen pancakes that are in the shape of hearts, which is linked to her Valentines Day theme.

Summary of FeedbackWhat do you agree with from your feedback?I agree that shaping the various foods into heart shapes makes it more personal to you and also that it helps it to fit in with the theme I have created about the foods being for valentines day. I also agree with the icing on the cookies being personal because it allows you to write your own messages on them to the people you love but you could also write a letter per cookie to spell out a word or phrase, again making it personal.

What do you disagree with from your feedback?Having read through all of the feedback, I have not been able to find anything in which I disagree with. I agree that I could have added more detail to my planning if I had been able to have more time to work on these ideas.

Idea EvaluationWhich idea that you came up with is your favourite and why?My favourite idea which I came up would be the valentines day, heart shaped cookies because you can personalise them to fit you. Heart shaped cookies are overdone and slightly overrated by now but by adding the icing and messages to them this makes them more personal and something that other people are less likely to have created also, giving them a unique feeling to them.Which idea, that your team came up with, is your favourite and why?My favourite idea which Chloe came up with would be the ginger cake because it is different to what most people would create. Most people tend to think of creating a chocolate or simple vanilla cake so the ginger cake is something different.
