Welcome to the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (QIA).

I am Yong-ho Park, Commissioner of QIA.

With the high priority of ensuring the safety of animal, plant and fisheries

products and enhancing animal disease control system, the QIA was

established on June 15, 2011 through the integration of the three former

quarantine and inspection agencies: National Veterinary Research and

Quarantine Service, National Plant Quarantine Service, National Fisheries

Products Quality Inspection Service.

Since the cabinet reshuffle on 23 March 2013, the ‘Animal, Plant and

Fisheries Quarantine and inspection Agency’ has been renamed to

the“Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency”, the highest government

quarantine agency.

We are committed to border quarantine and animal disease control to keep

Korea safe from animal and plant diseases and pests.

We will also strive to improve our expertise as a global leading research

institute. Through all these efforts, we will move forward to achieve our goal

of “Happy People, Clean Korea”
