This is a “NO MYTHS ALLOWED” section (FORUM). The topics covered in this forum are to facilitate a better understanding of the history, obligations and responsibilities of and for every Master Mason. If there’s a Masonic Educational message you believe serves this intent, please
submit the information, in writing, to the ESD Trestleboard for listing consideration.
asonic Information: (Sectionalized Content) Compiled by Jack R. Levitt, Past Grand Master of California... (Continued...) Masonic Culture: The brethren should proudly discourse on Freemasonry’s mission as an instrument of friendship, benevolence and compassion toward others; as a model for man’s plans, purposes, hopes
and striving to be better; and as a platform to strengthen and express a belief and devotion to God. Such are the tenets of brotherly love, relief and truth! The true purpose, therefore, of education is to cherish and unfold the seed of immortalityalready sown within us; to develop to their fullest extent the capacities of every kind with which the God who made us has endowed us.
WHAT CAME YOU HERE TO DO? To learn, to subdue our passions, and to improve ourselves in Masonry. TO LEARN - Do you read Masonic periodicals and books? What have you taught your brethren and candidates? TO SUBDUE OUR PASSIONS - Has your understanding and appreciation of our beautiful ritual enabled you to apply its lessons in your daily life at work, at home, and at leisure? Do you exemplify the four cardinal virtues of temperance, fortitude, prudence and justice, so that others notice behavioral changes in you? TO IMPROVE OUR SELVES IN MASONRY - How else have you made yourselves better men? In an expression of brotherly love or caring, how many ill brethren have you visited? Have you personally transported a non-driving or inactive brother to Lodge? Have you contributed to Masonic and community charities? How have you demonstrated that you are a good neighbor and a good citizen? How have you shown reverence for God? Does spirituality enter your every-day life? What shall we do? This exclamation by the triad of Fellow Crafts exemplifi es the importance of fraternal caring and concern, and it promotes dependence upon one another in collective effort. But, as conversation proceeds, they remind us that ultimately we are accountable for our actions and must report to a higher authority. “Agreed!” The degree then teaches us the importance of independent thought and action. “Hold! Before we return and report, let us separate,” ostensibly for individual experiences. But “let us keep within hailing distance.” That is, within the same context, so we may once again “meet and consult should any important discovery be made.” (...To Be Continued)

Brethren and Ladies:
THE VERY LAST HAPPY LAZY HOT DAYS OF SUMMER!!!
By the time you receive this e-mail, the following events will have taken place: Brother Jun Fernandez will have received his Mason of the Year award. It was en excellent evening for our Brother Jun. He was accompanied by a number of his family, including Brother Ray Fernandez, his son and masonic brother . A number of members from our Lodge were also present. I was unable to attend due to my daughter’s wedding out of town. As usual the Grand Master presented the awards, and a photograph as testimony of the event will be posted in the next issue of the trestle board.
Labor Day was celebrated on Monday, September 7, 2015. Here is wishing everyone a belated Happy Labor’s Day, with the hope that each one of you labored happily last
Monday.
The baseball game that all masons were waiting for, fi nally came on Tuesday evening the 8th of September. It was a good game, but I can’t tell you the score because as of this writing, it has not yet happened.
According to the schedule dated April, 2015, there will be no Offi cers School of Instruction for the month of September. If there are any changes, all offi cers and interested brothers will be notifi ed in ample time.
The next Masonic Hall Association meeting will be held on on Monday September 21, 2015. Any changes will be noted with ample time.
Our next Stated Meeting will be on September 10th, the 2nd Thursday of the month. Due to the anticipated warm weather, dress will be casual or coat and tie as you may prefer, but please no fl ip-fl ops, backyard tennis shoes, sleeveless shirts or shorts. The schedule for the month will be announced at the Stated Meeting.
If all goes well, we will have three candidates to confer the 2º commencing on the latter part of this month or the fi rst part of next.
If you know of any brethren of this lodge or their ladies that are sick, indisposed, or in need of assistance, please notify our Secretary, myself or our Sr. Warden.
God Bless!Mike Zdravkovic P.M.
