RECIPROCAL REFLEXIVES

Reciprocal is an action that is done to “EACH OTHER”To indicate an action is done to “EACH OTHER” in Spanish, use the Reciprocal Pronoun “NOS” or “SE”.Examples:

Las amigas se hablan. Nosotras nos abrazamos.

The friends talk to each other. We hug each other.

RECIPROCAL VS NOT RECIPROCAL

Carla y Pedro se besan. Sandra besa a Luis.

Carla y Pedro kiss each other. Sandra kisses Luis.Luis does not kiss Sandra.

In the second sentence the action is not done to each other, but it is only done to one person; therefore, no reciprocal reflexives is used.

RECIPROCAL VS. TOGETHER

Nos saludamos. Jugamos juntos.

We greet each other. We play together.

To indicate that an action is done “TOGETHER”

instead of to each other, use the word “JUNTOS”
