    Wednesday 6/6/12 Rehearsal ScheduleThese rehearsals are held at Howard Auditorium in Ruston and are absolutely mandatory!

    LIST A 1:00 2:30Monday 11am 3 & 4Monday 11:45am 3 & 4 All classes of students need to arrive in Tap shoes.Thursday 3 & 4 and we will rotate tap then each will change to balletFriday 3 & 4

    It is crucial for all students to attend these rehearsals. Students should wear regular dance clothes:Leotard, tights, and bring all dance shoes. There are restrooms in the front lobby if you wish to get there earlyto change. Arrive at least 10 minutes early. It is the only chance to become familiar with the stage. Do notleave anything at the auditorium & write names on ANYTHING you wear or bring.

    Absolutely NO FOOD NO DRINKS NO GUManywhere in the building. You may sit outside to eat. We willbe fined if any food or drinks are found inside the building

    Students should SIT in the audience. I will call up each class and send each class back to the audience tochange shoes while another class is rehearsing. T-Shirts and trophies will be handed out at the end of eachclass practice. DVD orders will be taken up Wednesday & Thursday. Please place the check and half theform in the box at the edge of the stage. I suggest paying with a check and enclosing it in an envelope alongwith the form. Order form at the back of packet.

    If you have a concern please try another teacher or assistant first. I hired backstage workers who mightalso be able to answer your questions, but please do not take them from any job they already have going on. would greatly appreciate your cooperation so I can manage rehearsals, not payments or general questions.This will greatly help keep us on schedule.

    Friday 6/8/12 Morning Final Rehearsals at Howard Auditorium

    ***Eat breakfast BEFORE you get to Howard Dancers will need the energy ***

    10:00 am All students dressed in leotard and tights should be sitting in the auditorium in audience seats.3 & 4 and 5 & 6 year olds in ballet shoes, Level I V in Jazz shoes. Gym only studentsbarefoot or in socks and tennis shoes.

    12:00 pm At the very latest students will be dismissed for lunch/naps. Some may be dismissed early

    Friday 6/8/12 Afternoon Dress Rehearsals at Howard Auditorium

    ***We will start with Finale but then this rehearsal will run just like the show but longer so we can programlights. Eat enough lunch so that you have energy, do not over eat, and I suggest taking a quick nap. Parents

    from previous years have rented a hotel or went to a friends house for rest.***

    2:00 pm Arrive in full costume with full make up, all shoes, hair fixed, and ready to go on stage for firstdance. Please drop off dancers with all their costumes, bags with shoes, and extras in dressingareas. I ask that everyone but the sitters and dancers to be out of the dressing area by 2.

    Sitters and attendants will be backstage at 2:00pm for all rehearsals. Please do not go back to help changetheir clothes and explain that they are to mind sitters and follow all of their rules and directions. These girls arebeing paid to take care of your children and help them change, get to and from the stage, and keep generalorder. Please help them out by making sure your children understand that even though the sitters andattendants are people they dont know, they are still in charge. It is VERY cramped back stage so try to avoidgoing back and forth.

    Talk to the other moms in the class to see if someone wouldnt mind volunteering to bring a DVD andTV with DVD player, set up backstage during the finale rehearsal this morning. To entertain our dancersbring coloring books or sitting activities for younger children during rehearsals. Some classes have long waitsbetween dances. Do not bring anything that can mark a costume or generate loud noises. Dont bringanything your child will become attached to and want to bring on stage. If you leave it or loose it or its

    damaged, it will not be Tech or DSUPs responsibility. This is why I do not suggest gaming or music devices.

    Leaving: Students are NOT allowed to leave backstage to watch recital or rehearsal. Students may ONLYleave during dress rehearsal if they have finished all dances or if they wish to take pictures and have at least10 songs before performing. Please bring a change of clothes so you can take all costumes and accessorieswith you. Leave NOTHING behind after any of the rehearsals or the show. If you are gymnastics ONLY youare allowed to go into the auditorium to watch.

    NO SEATS may be reserved for later that evening.ABSOLUTELY: NO FOOD, NO DRINK, NO GUMANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING: Its not my rule its La Tech Theater Dept and we can be fined or notallowed to rent if food is seen or found! There is a water fountain backstage. Filming and photography isallowed during rehearsals. ABSOLUTELY NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY at ANY time.

    Saturday 6/9/12 6:00 pm Recital Performance

    5:30 Please arrive fully dressed at the auditorium with all costumes, shoes in bags, & extra stuff Have ONEparent, or guardian, drop the student off with their attendant or sitter in their designated area. Some ofyou may want to disappear to avoid problems if you know what I mean wink, wink.

    6:15 Students should be in rooms/chairs, parents & friends should leave to go back in audience.6:30 Curtain Opens, Show Begins!

    NO ONE should go backstage or into the audience after curtain call. Only students who take GymnasticsONLY will be allowed to sit in the audience (required cover up on over your costume).

    EXTRAS: Hair, Makeup, Under costume, ECTFor make up, match eye shadow to one costume or use gray and black or neutrals. Make sure it doesnt clashwith any costumes if you have multiples. Minimum Makeup: Red lipstick, blush, black eye liner on TOP LIDONLY and mascara or fake eyelashes. If you need a body liner(nude or black) you must purchase theseitems yourself. If a student had short hair they may modify the hair style as long as hair is kept out of face ORpurchase a pony tail or bun extension. Attendants, Sitters, and backstage workers are in charge. I will be onstage behind a curtain and accessible by walky-talky only. They have strict instructions from me on how I wishthings to be run so that the dancers AND the audience will have a good show. Booths will be set up in the

    lobby selling gift. They may come to rehearsals.

    NO EXCEPTIONS for the following RULES

    4. NO FOOD, GUM, OR DRINKS everallowed in Howard Auditorium or backstage. **Its their rule andI can be fined and have my renting privileges revoked if food is seen or found.

    5 ABSOLUTELY NO FILMING OR PHOTOGRAPHY! I have hired to video the recital. Flashphotography is distracting and dangerous. Please be careful not to walk in front of the videographersand always exit and enter the lobby doors between dances. Please remember too that we can see thecamera screens and lights of those of you who chose to ignore the rules and video. It is disrespectfulto the videographer, and its distracting in the professional video.

    6. You are responsible for any alterations or you may call Marlene Marchant: 368-3110

    7. Have the correct shoes, no exceptions. No slippers instead of ballet shoes and no wrong color tap oballet shoes.

    8. No Jewelry. No exceptions (they rip out and rip costumes). I have purchased special performanceearrings for older girls. No others will be allowed.

    9. Do not leave even one strand of hair out of place. Hairspray and gel bangs and flyaways.

    10. No colored nail polish, clear is optional.
