If you created your own plan, what concerns would you

have?

Group Question #2: You and your cabinet are devising a plan to put the country back together. What would your reconstruction plan be for the United States? Make sure you address the following issues.

1)Freedman’s Bureau: What should it do? How long should it be in place?

2) How many people need to pledge their loyalty to the U.S. before admitting states? Should they be the same states, or new ones?

3) What involvement should former Confederate leaders have? What about those who fought for the South?

4) What rights should African Americans hold, and who should determine those rights?

5) Troops: Should there be troops enforcing the plan? If so where at, and how long will they be there?
