record and share accessible video presentations and tutorials
DESCRIPTION
Although recording classroom presentations and tutorials for ordinary learners is not a new idea, little effort has been applied to provide simple solutions to prepare complementary video materials to deaf/hearing impaired students or those with learning or auditory perceptual disability who tend to be visual learners and have difficulty in watching a teacher and take notes from a screen or blackboard simultaneously. RealShow automates the process of producing effective video materials for those learners and provides functions that combine popular PowerPoint slides, freehand drawings and illustrations, screen typing, and teacher’s video sign language translation in one single window.TRANSCRIPT

Background: PowerPoint MS PowerPoint® is the
leading presentation software used in our professional and educational world for years.
It is easy-to-use, flexible, popular, and cost-effective, and allows teachers and students to create multimedia content (multiple formats) quickly.

However, PowerPoint ® is:
a teacher-oriented presentation tool.
not substitute for the in-depth information and guidance a presenter should deliver.

Background: PowerPoint
if students are not seeing or listening to the teacher in the lecture, then reading the slides in isolation will be less valuable.

Background: PowerPoint not interactive,
and the presenter usually needs to use a whiteboard or flipchart to interact with the audience.

Background: Video
Video is an expanding channel for students learning.
- anytime/anywhere,- flexible/ portable,- socially acceptable,- link the teacher and students,- meet a variety of learning styles,- more realistic than reading,- fast forward, pause, and replay, and- motivating.

In conclusion There is increasing
interest in providing students with recorded class materials and multimedia content.

The Solution
There is a need to a solution that automates the process of producing video presentations and combines teacher’s: PowerPoint slides, video view, drawings/illustrations, & text typing.
![Page 9: Record and share accessible video presentations and tutorials](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052619/5554055bb4c90544428b509e/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
9
The Solution
RealShow: helps teachers apply principles for the
design of multimedia materials and human cognitive processing.
takes advantage of the dual-channel
structure of the human information processing system by means of text, pictures and audio.
![Page 10: Record and share accessible video presentations and tutorials](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052619/5554055bb4c90544428b509e/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
10
The Solution
RealShow: gives learners a sense of interaction
with the teacher while watching the lecture (social presence).
reduces students’ cognitive load by helping them select and organize what is important.

Features
RealShow 1.0 helps presenters to:1. Open and display already made real
PowerPoint slides within the same window.
2. Extract slide note attached to each slide and display it in a small text box beside the slide for easy narration.
3. Navigate through slides the same as they move in PowerPoint full screen mode.
4. Display current slide number, title and total number of slides in the status bar.
