Artist’s opinion• From speaking to the artist we have picked and

finding out what his interests and goals are when it comes to a record label - his answer was quite simple, ''I enjoy being independent, I can do what I want with my own music without anyone telling me what I have to do''. For this reason me and my group have decided to look for a little British independent record label.

Researching appropriate Record label

• From looking at many different record labels including 4AD, Subpop and XL, we have found one that really appealed to us as well as our artist.

DOMINOThe Record label we have picked is Domino. This record label is a British independent label formed in 1993. It took the label a decade to truly find its footing, but 2005 was a landmark year for Domino. Franz Ferdinand’s You Could Have It So Much Better hit #1 on the UK album chart and the Arctic Monkeys "I Bet You Look Good On the Dance floor" was a #1 pop singles chart smash.

The main reason for picking this record label is because it is quite unknown and little with a good reputation. Also, the Arctic Monkeys are signed to this label and they are one of our and our artist’s favourite bands.
