1 RECORDER PRACTICE SHEET 5 We learnt to hold and blow the note G. Play note A. Keep your fingers in position. Now put your third finger on the third hole. This is the finger for note G. Note G is written on the second line up on the musical staff. Three Blind Mice The vertical lines are called barlines. They divide the notes into groups of equal length, called bars. The number at the beginning of the music tells you how many beats are in each bar.
