Registration forms @ http://www.walshcollege.edu/regforms.

WEBADVISOR (WA) REGISTRATION TIPS

Our system gets very busy at 9 am on the first day of regular registration. Here are a few tips to assist you:

PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF REGISTRATION: BE READY!!

Make sure you can access WebAdvisor.

1. Go to the Current Student home page @

http://www.walshcollege.edu/current_students

2. Follow link for registration.

3. Follow login instructions.

Put classes on your preferred list through WA.

Then you will be able to go directly to WebAdvisor, click “Registration”,

“Register for Classes”, and “Register for Previously Selected Classes” on the

first day of registration. This saves time and processing resources.

Quicker option: Go to https://myportal.walshcollege.edu, login and click

“Course Search/Registration”; create your “Preferred List”; click on “View My

Preferred List” and you will be taken to WebAdvisor to register.

Make sure you know your login and have your password up to date.

Passwords expire every 90 days. If you need to reset yours, go to the

“Change/Reset Password” form available at

https://www-secure.walshcollege.edu/PasswordReset.

ON THE FIRST DAY OF REGISTRATION:

 Log in after 9 am.

If you access WA before 9 am, you will get a “You’re not eligible to register”

error message – even once it turns 9 am. (If you get this message, log out

and log back in.)

Use “Express Registration” or “Register for Previously Selected Classes” for

faster processing times.

Avoid using the “Search and Register for Classes” link.

Have classes on your preferred list in advance and use “Register for

Previously Selected Classes”. If you must use “Search and Register for

Classes”, be sure to narrow down your results by entering 2-3 search criteria

(e.g. term, subject and course level OR term, subject, and course number).

 Be Patient!

During heavy usage, processing may take a few extra seconds.

 Wait until later.

If you are in a program where classes do not fill quickly, consider registering

later on.

 Log out.

Once you finish registering, log out so that others can log in!

If you do not plan to register the first day – be kind to your fellow

classmates by not logging in!

PAYMENT INFORMATION: Undergraduate Graduate Doctorate Tuition per credit hour $320 $550 Go to

http://www.walshcollege.edu/doctoraltuition

Three types of courses are offered (Online/Virtual, Blended, and Web-Assisted) that may make use of an online course system to deliver course work. Walsh College

requires students enrolling in Online/Virtual or Blended courses complete the Orientation for Online Courses (OOL 001) that demonstrates how to work in a virtual

classroom. Although recommended, this orientation is not a requirement for Web-Assisted (W) courses. The Orientation for Online Courses is a no cost/no credit

course that must be taken prior to, or concurrently with, your first Online/Virtual (V) or Blended (VB) course at Walsh College.

Once you have successfully completed this requirement, you will not be required to take it again. Previously taking a Hybrid course at Walsh College, or having taken

online courses at another college does not fulfill this orientation requirement. Online or Blended students who have not successfully completed OOL 001 and who do

not select an OOL 001 section during registration are automatically enrolled in section R1.

The Orientation for Online Courses can be completed entirely online (OOL 001*R1) or by taking one of the in-class sessions offered (OOL 001*R2-R3). For more

information go to http://online.walshcollege.edu and click the “Orientation” link located on the left navigation bar.

Please read the following information carefully:

COURSE DETAILS

Online/Virtual Courses (Sections: V#) – These courses meet entirely online, although some courses require in-person proctored exams.

Orientation for Online/Virtual courses is mandatory.

If you are enrolling for your first Online/Virtual course, you MUST register for an Orientation for Online Course (OOL 001) in order to receive your password

to enter the course. For OOL 001 offerings, see pages 8, 9, and 14.

Blended Courses (Sections: VB#) – These sections combine both online and on-campus delivery. Please refer to the course section syllabus for specific on-

campus/online meeting dates and times.

Orientation for Blended courses is mandatory.

If you are enrolling for your first Blended course, you MUST register for an Orientation for Online Course (OOL 001) in order to receive your password to

enter the course. For OOL 001 offerings, see pages 8, 9, and 14.

Web-Assisted Courses (Sections: W#) – These courses meet in-person, but use various technologies to enhance instruction. Your instructor decides what technology

will be used.

Orientation for Web-Assisted Courses is not required.

Although recommended, students enrolling in Web-Assisted courses are not required to register for the orientation for online courses. Your Web-Assisted

course instructor will provide orientation information, if necessary.

SYLLABUS ACCESS

Online/Virtual Courses – Please see cover page to see when the syllabi will be posted.

Blended Courses – Syllabi for many Blended courses are available to registered students one week before class work begins, at the discretion of the instructor.

Web-Assisted Courses – Syllabi will be available at the discretion of the instructor.
